What MultiVersus 2 Should Have

MultiVersus is a game that is set to cease active development after Season 5 to give us DC's Aquaman and Looney Tunes' Lola Bunny. After that, the game is going to be offline for the forseeable future only for it to be played locally and Warner Bros will shift its focus to bringing collaborations to Fortnite.

We are disappointed to experience that the game is ceasing active development at 35 characters because of its ridiculous microtransactions, lack of content, drastic changes from Open Beta and removing Tom from the development team, which are the things that made the game have its untapped potential, so fans have intended to do a petition to bring MultiVersus back and do a #SaveMultiVersus rally. If there is enough fan support, the game can be back as MultiVersus 2. With that said, I am going to talk about what things that SHOULD be in Multiversus 2 to fix problems MultiVersus 1 has created. Let dive into the post.

The Return of Gold:

Since the Open Beta era, MultiVersus introduced Gold, which is earned by completing missions and finishing matches and used to purchase cosmetics, perks and characters. But after the relaunch, the game's Gold currency got replaced with multiple currencies and we can only purchase cosmetics with Gleamium and fans don't seem to like it that the Open Beta was better because of the Gold currency. But MultiVersus 2 should bring the Gold currency back with an emphasis on earning them to spend on characters and cosmetics. Let's take a look at the core performance accolades that reward you Gold and how much Gold you will earn for completing missions.

Core Accolades:

Win Bonus - Win a match = 250 Gold
Perfect Win - Win a match without getting rungout = 200 Gold
Double Ringout - Ringout two opponents within three seconds = 100 Gold each
Clutch - Ringout an opponent that has lower damage than you = 100 Gold per ringout
From Zero to Hero - When the enemy team is on match point, get four straight ringouts and win = 500 Gold
Flammable - Ignite an opponent = 150 Gold per time
On Ice - Freeze an opponent = 150 Gold per time
Dodgy - Dodge an enemy's attack = 100 Gold per time
Shield Breaker - Break an enemy's shield = 250 Gold per time
Wide Open - Parry an enemy's attack = 100 Gold per time

Missions:

Daily Missions = 150 Gold on each daily mission
Weekly Missions = 300 Gold on each weekly mission
Event Missions = 300 Gold on event mission
Missions for New Characters = 150 Gold to 300 Gold

Now, I believe these ways of earning Gold with an emphasis can work so that we don't have to rely on spending real money on Gleamium to purchase items. Instead, we can rely on spending Gold on things that are purchaseable with Gold, including skins that are required to complete missions and extra lives. In fact, bringing Gold back can fix problems with ridiculously handling microtransactions.

Battle Passes That Don't Expire:

Marvel Rivals handled giving us Battle Passes that don't expire after purchasing, which is good because the rewards that you did not claim will stay in every Season so that they can be claimed in the future. And I believe that MultiVersus 2 should have Battle Passes that don't expire after purchasing the premium track once. It's when it comes to getting the cosmetics you want.

Low Gleamium Prices:

If you remember the Open Beta era, MultiVersus had a campaign mode that uses lives. The problem to this is that getting 10 extra lives costed you 1,000 Gleamium, which is $10. What greed it had. I mean, come on! But if a campaign game mode returns in MultiVersus 2, I like to pay a very small fee to purchase 10 extra lives. Let's say about 500 Gleamium to purchase 10 lives and 50 Gleamium to purchase one extra life.

But that's not the only thing. You know that decorative skins, like characters wearing a mask cost 500 Gleamium and they are required to complete missions? That is a bit high and quite the greedy and scummy practice we have ever experienced. What if we can lower the prices of decorative skins down to 100 Glemium? That could work, as long as it can tone down the realiability of handling microtransactions in MultiVersus 2.

4 New Characters Per Season:

When MultiVersus has launched, we get four new characters in Season 1, but in subsequent Seasons, we get two new characters. That's a lack of content so dry. But MutlVersus 2 should change that so that each Season can give us four new characters that are earnable through gameplay, including the popular ones, so we should be given one new character every two weeks. The pace of releasing new characters is fast and it's similar and faithful to the pace made in Open Beta.

Super Attacks:

Ever since we entered the Wii era, the first Smash Bros. game that featured super attacks was Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It introduced game changing Final Smashes and they are performed when the Smash Ball is in one of the characters' possession. The Final Smashes in Smash Ultimate are far too wild while some of the characters' Final Smashes are so cinematic. But we can emphasize that.

Instead of thinking Smash Ultimate, let's think a little in line with Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 where they have cinematic ultimate attacks for all characters and the ultimate attacks in MultiVersus 2 would be far far too cinematic and wild.

With the exception of super attacks, what I said above can fix problems in MultiVersus 2 so that its player base can be sustained and we can have a smooth enjoyment without the reliability of microtransactions. Also, super attacks can be a new feature in MultiVersus 2. That's why it had to be an exception to not be a factor that atributed a lackluster launch.

If Warner Bros is going to make a MultiVersus 2, these are the things above I want so that it can fix problems MultiVersus 1 created to establish a lackluster relaunch. And there is another free to play fighting game that I know that will not rely on us spending real money to buy premium currency because of earning currency by playing the game to buy characters and skins. And that is 2XKO. The update regarding its development is coming this February.
