BBTAG Music to SG Chart Update 3.1

Before we get to today's BBTAG Music to Skullgirls chart update, I have a long segue I want to relay in case if some of you are out of the loop.

Playing BBTAG music while playing and spectating Skullgirls is intended to be for fun and creative purposes, not to commit copyright infringement. I gave it a go on the fourth week of March when watching Skullgirls Slapfest as a test and assigned the characters, stages and canon solo matches to them as a cherry on top after it turned out well enough for me to confirm it. MvC1 mode is the character section while MvC2 is the stage section, which I haven't done yet.

That was since Mike Z has created a fiasco at Lab Zero, by sexually harassing his employees and refused to leave following the callous and dark "I can't breathe" joke, so the others quitted their jobs in the middle of the turmoil and created their own development studio where Skullgirls' development has continued under, but not Indivisible since it bombed very hard in sales. Then despite the allegations, ArcSys has hired Mike Z to implement rollback netcode to Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core Plus R and fired him. He was trying to become a better person, by doing that, right? Wrong. That didn't fly and absolve him of being a bad person from treating his friends like garbage.

You see, experiencing the fact that Skullgirls is continuing development despite the setback because of Autumn Games owning the IP and us making it thrive for many years has driven me to play BBTAG music while playing and spectating Skullgirls after assigning the theme to characters, stages and canon solo matches as a cherry on top. Assigning Annie to a BlazBlue theme like Justice Sword and playing it upon her entrance was a great starting point, followed by assigning Umbrella to Active Angel to fit well with her bright and upbeat personality and also her stage's bright setting.

Spoiler alert: the third Season 1 Pass character revealed at CEO is now assigned to a BlazBlue theme along with Annie and Umbrella.

The launch party will never end and it is bigger than any individual. It's gonna take more than the unacceptable behavior of one individual to bring it down. BBTAG music is the best option to spice it up even more and nothing will ever beat it. And then, I noticed that I was told that Autumn Games is a publisher that only has one game on their inventory. One called Skullgirls so that they would do everything in their power to keep Skullgirls alive, thus making them money while 505 Games is a massive publisher with a ton of games on their inventory and they probably don't seem to care about one of their IPs being brought down.

Plus, a Webtoon adaptation is in the works and that's when I can understand the story once I know the moves. But you know what would be amazing? A Skullgirls anime adaptation.

With all of the awesomeness that would be BlazBlue: Alter Memory, Johnny Test, Looney Tunes, Bob's Burgers, Futurama, League of Super Evil, Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM, Kim Possible, Gormiti: The Lords of Nature Return!, Redakai: Conquer the Kairu and Super Mario Bros. Z, it's time for them to make a Skullgirls anime adaptation.

I originally wanted an anime movie adaptation, but I learned that it is too much filler, so an anime TV show adaptation would be ideal. Skullgirls has infrequent use of mild language and violence with severe bleeding and it's deemed a horror game, so it's gonna be most likely rated TV-14-LV because no horror shows would be rated TV-PG-LV.

There was a Peacock-exclusive anime TV show adaptation for Individible and it was in the works to be most likely rated TV-PG-V rather than TV-Y7-FV due to blood, until it was cancelled due to Lab Zero Games' dissolution caused by one man that had to darn near end production on the game and anime. I just wish Disney can fix this, but not gonna happen. This is just ridiculous. I hope Mike Z never shows his face in the game industry, period. Not after for what he did to darn near destroy all of their hard work on the extra content and let the anime adaptation go to waste.

The short story is how it goes; Autumn Games is the official IP holder so Skullgirls can stay alive and continue development despite the fiasco at Lab Zero Games and experiencing that has given me the opportunity to shift to BBTAG music as a cherry on top. For that, I am working on a project to celebrate the never ending launch party. More news about that is coming soon.

But you know what would make the never ending Skullgirls launch party even bigger? If more platforms joined the launch party.

Xbox:

They are interested in developing not just the Xbox One version, but also the Xbox Series X/S version in the future, but they still weren't able to provide info about the Xbox release. When Skullgirls originally came out on the Xbox 360, it came with slow load times created by Microsoft's complication. Xbox players are so frustrated that the outdated Xbox 360 version worked on the later Xbox consoles through backwards compatibility and not the 2nd Encore release. That may change at some point.

Nintendo Switch:

They are still interested in bringing the Season 1 Pass to the Switch version and it's on the top of the priority list. But unfortunately, it's still not that simple. What makes it so is the unique technical complications of the platform and that's why they are still unable to provide info about the Season 1 Pass on the Switch version at the current rate of their development. Switch players are still hoarding their eShop points for so long since the announcement of the Season 1 Pass too. The port came out, but with a lot of inflexibility the Vita version carries.

For now, until they provide info about the Season 1 Pass for the Switch and the Xbox release, the Season 1 Pass are gonna stay available mostly on Steam and PlayStation.

And now, without further ado, it is time to post the next update that entails announcing a new non-RWBY theme for Valentine, final changes to the chart, fun stuff on assigning the Skullgirls characters to BBTAG music and the next Skullgirls Lore now that the third character in the Season 1 Pass is revealed.

This update will be divided in two parts. We'll highlight the character section for part one and the canon solo match and stage sections for part two.

The legend mapping has two new keys. The green dot for EX themes a star for wishlisted characters. This no longer has a red dot for RWBY themes because I will no longer play a RWBY theme accordingly.

Now, instead of going into detail, I'll use the "-character- - -old theme- -> -new theme-" format. that has the color coded themes based on universes.

Valentine - Blake Mix -> VARIABLE HEART
Black Dahlia (Announced as the third Season 1 Pass character) - Monochrome Memory -> Walpurgisnacht
Feng - Heartful! -> Like the Dragon
Beatrix - Fascinating Gessen Girls Academy -> Princess Amagi-ya
Scythana - Walpurgisnacht -> Monochrome Memory

That said, because these above changes to the character section are gonna be final, the character section is now cemented, settled, done and dusted with the final amount of 15 characters assigned to BlazBlue themes, 12 characters assigned to Persona 4 Arena themes, 12 characters assigned to Under Night In-Birth themes, four characters assigned to EX themes and zero characters assigned to RWBY themes. But this is gonna be for the BBTAG 2.0 period.

Arc System Works better confirm the 3.0 Character Pack since rollback netcode is coming to BBTAG and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is being ported to Steam, PS4 and Switch so I can make final changes.

I'm gonna go over a couple of changes. First off, for Valentine's new theme. Since the shift to BBTAG music, Valentine was assigned to Blake Mix. It's a perfect fit, but I learned that RWBY themes aren't substantial enough, so she is now assigned to VARIABLE HEART, a BlazBlue theme. Now let's move on the next change. It's for Black Dahlia's new theme with her playable debut as a cherry on top. After doing some researching behind the scenes, Walpurgisnacht is actually a perfect theme for her and it's benefitted by her wicked personality.

Here's a couple of fun stuff entailing how BBTAG music is much better and much more unprecedented with the mainline BlazBlue games.

Assigning the Cirque des Cartes members to their themes from BBTAG is what makes it beneficial and much more unprecedented as you all know. This section has changed as Like the Dragon and Princess Amagi-ya are now new themes for Feng and Beatrix and the characters are sorted by solitaire order.

Honestly, assigning the Cirque des Cartes members to BBTAG themes given me not just Namco Museum vibes, but some Team Sonic Racing vibes also. In fact, assigning the characters in general also given me some Team Sonic Racing vibes. If all of them get their playable debut, things might go crazy. You know what would be awesome? If they make the Cirque des Cartes a playable stage.

I heard giant arms are made for punching and grappling. This is how Forceful Step fits perfectly with Cerebella and she is still the only Cirque des Cartes member assigned to an Under Night In-Birth theme.

Here are the members of Skullgirls' elite military group, the Black Egrets, assigned to their BBTAG themes. The fun thing about it is that I find assigning the Black Egrets to their BBTAG themes much more unprecedented, like with the Cirque des Cartes. Military groups are strong. They have guns and tanks and they can put bad guys to justice like any cop.

The Black Egrets have been the Canopy Kingdom's sword and shield, just like Mortal Kombat's Special Forces being Earthrealm's sword and shield for 25 years, Paladins' Sentinels, a military group of the Magistrate that have been the Realm's sword and shield and so on.

This contains the characters in the PS4 theme art. Since 2nd Encore was announced for the PS4, a theme art was given to those who have pre-ordered and it has ten characters featured in the art. Annie and Umbrella are the ones who are featured and aren't playable until that time when they are announced to be playable in the Season 1 Pass. Currently, where it stands, Umbrella is on the verge of getting into Beta. I'll tell you more about that later.

Another fun thing is the hero and sidekick duos with a little bit of Injustice 2 feel. This has a hero and sidekick pattern with spaces between them to better make things easy to tell. This seems to be an interesting placement for the top four duos there. It has heroes assigned to Persona 4 Arena themes and their sidekicks assigned to BlazBlue themes while the bottom two has different placements.

My instincts told me that Umbrella's story could entail becoming Parasoul's salty sidekick of a sister. This is because Umbrella does not appreciate being locked up in their castle just because it's not safe for her at her age, so as a solution to make things less dangerous, Umbrella's goal is simple: become a sidekick and the Robin she deserved to be to prove that it is not dangerous for her to fight alongside her big sister to save the Canopy Kingdom and that's the name of her story dubbed "Salty Sidekick" and making and delivering burgers wouldn't be a problem.

I just noticed that Cerebella and Feng are not only the Blue Beetle and Firestorm, which as you remember, but they are best friends to each other similar to Ms. Fortune and Minette. Oh and also Jocelyn and Tammy, so tell me. This is why I'm supporting them to get their playable debut, and Umbrella has made her debut to complete the Batman and Robin link.

We will not give up. We must support Feng and Minette so that Cerebella and Ms. Fortune will have their best friends playable and these crossing of fates will be completed for that Jocelyn and Tammy link and that's what Cerebella and Feng will have.

What makes it another fun thing about this is that some movie theaters across the country including the one near me make me think of Skullgirls at night because you know, they have an art deco theme that Los Angeles uses and an imaginative feel based on characters, with Annie associating stars on the theater walls outside and Black Dahlia associating a bar in my local movie theater. Even Umbrella is one of them to associate slushies and candies.

And lastly in the fun section of BBTAG music. Here are the top 5 unique Skullgirls trios assigned to three BBTAG themes. One on each universe. What trio I like the most is Team Superstars of Smash, consisting of Beowulf, Annie and Cerebella, and that is because of A-Pure Hearted Beast, Justice Sword and Forceful Step, the three awesome themes that I will use for the next quip of the day, consisting of three themes. One on each universe. Stay tuned for that. It is kind of amazing that a TV wrestler, a TV hero and a clown came together since Annie has made her playable debut. I will be selecting this trio as my dummy for Training both on PS4 and Steam.

Honestly, I was hoping it's one of the characters assigned to an Under Night In-Birth theme, not a BlazBlue theme, but it was worth seeing that Black Dahlia is making her playable debut. She is in my wish list anyway, even though she is assigned to a BlazBlue theme. In fact, since Dahlia is a sinister gun granny, MvC1 mode is getting more fun as Walpurgisnacht might be a perfect fit for her regardless of that fact that it's another character assigned to a BlazBlue theme, not an Under Night In-Birth theme. This has nine characters assigned to BlazBlue themes.

I'm hearing that the characters after Annie in the Season 1 Pass use a hint, which is the characters that are intended to make the first part of the canon story. A while back, Alex Ahad said that he needs Umbrella, Black Dahlia and Marie to to be playable. These are the three characters that are required to make the first part of the canon story mode, like other fighting games. Umbrella and Black Dahlia are confirmed to be in the Season 1 Pass, so DLC4 is most likely to be Marie and she is not only assigned to an Under Night In-Birth theme, Purity & Strictly, but along with Umbrella and Black Dahlia, she is one of the required characters to make the first part of the canon story mode. So I'm gonna update the chart and leave this here as a prediction.

Again, as of right now, they are getting Umbrella into her Beta phase of the Active Angel update, which contains her voice acting, a very early version of her stage that needs NPCs and adjustments, additional palettes and even more of them will be added overtime and the first set of general gameplay, balance and quality of life changes if they have the time. That said, Umbrella is set to bring the salty thunder early 2022. Originally, Umbrella was supposed to come out this year, but their pace has slowed down because of development streams and updates every week. Then it's off to the wait for Black Dahlia. Here are the Umbrella palettes I want.

Umbrella: Maggie, Robin, Louise Belcher and Annie of the Stars
Hungern: Ferocious Beast, Robin's staff, Louise's grabber thing and Sagan

And this concludes part 1 of this update. Again, the character section is now cemented and locked in until the 3.0 Character Pack is announced. As soon as we finally get information about Black Dahlia, I will post part 2 of this update where I announce changes made on the canon solo match and the stage sections and go into detail about which theme Dahlia's stage is assigned to.

Before I close this out, it is time for another Skullgirls Lore. This one is gonna entail on how A Pure-Hearted Beast fits well with Beowulf as a commemoration of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax being ported to Steam, PS4 and Switch to be in line with BlazBlue: Central Fiction and Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late(cl-r). Listen up. *ahem*

Alright, so... you know how Persona 4 Arena is coming to Steam, PS4 and Switch to be in line with BlazBlue and Under Night In-Birth? Well, that's where Beowulf comes in. Assigned to A Pure-Hearted Beast. You see, when it comes to watching WWE Monday Night Raw and Friday Night Smackdown, wrestling on TV is never real because fake wrestling is more violent than real wrestling. Professional wrestlers can execute finishers and win championship belts. But no pro TV wrestler is more special than Beowulf. Assigned to an Persona 4 Arena theme, he wields his chair he called it the Hurting. You know, like Kanji Tatsumi, but without a Persona, courtesy of what ruby_chan said. He comes with a Hype system that replinishes and consumes when doing certain actions and triggers cheering in certain stages and booing when he goes down.

If you remember the previous fun fact about how Forceful Step makes a perfect fit for Cerebella to garnish her spectacular personality and her strength of punching and grabbing things with her hat with living arms, thanks to its techno flow, A Pure-Hearted Beast makes a perfect fit for Beowulf to garnish his manly spectacular personality and his strength of wielding his chair with its manly flow. He is a pro wrestler known for grappling and body slamming his opponents. He even got a fatal counter-inducing Distortion Drive similar to Spencer in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Well, because these two awesome titans look spectacular and flamboyant as heck in their palettes that depict Kanji Tatsumi and Mika, A Pure-Hearted Beast and Forceful Step make a perfect garnishment for them in the BBTAG music period. She is a clown in her Mika palette and he is a wrestler in his Kanji Tatsumi palette. Nice. Perhaps I should think about labbing Kanji and Mika in BBTAG.

Anyway, Grendel, the Gigan warrior is a Titan. He can defeat any wrestler he faces. Because he's unstoppable, like Shao Kahn. But one man has managed to beat him and Beowulf did the impossible. He torn Grendel's arm off of him, wowed the crowd and became John Cena. Yeah, get freaking wrecked! Grendel's arm became a trophy, until it is controlled by the Skullgirl the moment she appeared.

Beowulf plays the big bad Wulfman in the popular kids show, Annie of the Stars and I'm sure you remembered that. So he sets out on a journey to the hero role in defeating the Skullgirl and gets briefed on his career to earn himself as a hero by Zane McDougal, who is actually Double, sucking him into the depths of Gehenna. On his way, he came across victims that are bound he fought so far. Cerebella, Painwheel and Big Band are one of them.

Also, remember Annie? Remember the fun fact about how Justice Sword fits perfectly with her? Well, when Beowulf fought Double, Annie senpai noticed him, saved him from the depths of Gehenna and scolded him. Then she was like "You're not gonna listen, are you?" But he disobeyed her like a pure-hearted rebel he is and went to put the smack down on the Skullgirl despite Annie's caution. Heh, smack down.

Ahh... anyway, Beowulf is in a pickle with Grendel's arm being controlled to crush him and Double shows up to eat him alive, until as Justice Sword plays, Annie comes in with her Galaxy Cutter to engage Double, freeing Beowulf from her clutches. A turnaround has established as in his mind, Grendel told Beowulf to settle everything, so he controlled his arm to come to him and Beowulf was able to pull Grendel's arm out of the Skullgirl's power and smashed the Skull Heart and Annie cut Double in half.

After the fight, Annie gave Beowulf a reward, which is playing the hero role in her show. Before you go on an adventure, you need a companion. Every hero needs a sidekick after all. And since Beowulf has made his way into the hero role, he comes in to play his part as Annie's sidekick, thus creating a Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable-type duo. #SoTheDrama. But wait, the friendship of Beowulf and Annie also comes with a Sonic and Sally type of friendship? Uhh... #WayPastCool, I guess...

Now, since Missions for the Brilliant Executor and Active Angel are unbelievable for Parasoul and Umbrella, the "Batman and Robin", then A Pure Hearted Beast and Justice Sword shall be unbelievable for Beowulf and Annie, the "Kim and Ron", thanks to BBTAG music, DC Comics and Walt Disney. Now that is something that Shao Kahn couldn't compete with. And DiC Entertainment, even though it no longer exists and folded into Cookie Jar. Know what I mean? If there is a duo or a trio that inolves Beowulf and Annie, the real fun starts as wanting Athena Asamiya to be in KOFXV. Otherwise, there won't be a pulling of a Nevercake.

You can create Beowulf on the latest WWE video game. Heck, he'll defeat any pro wrestler with his Ultimate Three-Wulf Moonsault, his signature and cinematic lv. 5 super. The Rock, Triple H, Asuka, and even Zelina Vega, although she got permanently banned from WWE for social treason or some crap she did, which is kind of sad and everything. But I think there is a rule that he and a female wrestler can't go toe-to-toe in a wrestling match. Oh and give him an autograph or he'll unleash his DDT on you.

Today's BBTAG Music to Skullgirls Quip:

"If you're wielding the Justice Sword against the ghosts of your past, take a ghostly Forceful Step towards A Pure-Hearted Beast that is friendly and voiced by your friendly neighborhood Nevercake."
