RGR Best of 2014

Happy New Years Eve, RPG fans! Because today is the 365th and final day of 2014! Are you having memories for your gaming of 2014? Good, because tomorrow, we are moving on to 2015, with upcoming RPG games itching to be released! Since it's the final day of 2014 we are giving you the best of 2014 with memories of gaming. Let's kick it off with the best thing I had in 2014.

First off, at the beginning of January 2014, I have did an accurate list of games that are coming soon, However, it had a few games that aren't released this year so as for next year, that list will have all RPGs that will release in 2015. So far, this year's blockbusters are a hit! So as for next year, which is tomorrow, they will be the same. However, like on this year, January didn't have any RPG releases. Expect them to be released in the coming months after January!

RGR Gaming Goal Update - 12/26

Well, it's been a few months since I updated the gaming goal, so today's update is here. But I had some bad news. Seems like the remaining games that I haven't played are a darn chore to play, so I'm going to abort the main goal and get back to my regularly scheduled gaming program, while I give you the information about next year's goal. The Gaming Goal 2015 will have RPGs that I'm going to pick up, as long as they are not a chore, but fun to play.

Also, the goal for next year will be easier. As 2015 is getting closer and closer, this year is almost over. However, the coming January didn't have any RPG releases, like this year, so hold on tight until February.

Finally picked up a WiiU this year!

After two years since the WiiU is released, I have finally gotten myself a WiiU for Christmas, and I have set it up in my room the proper way. I've been wanting a WiiU for years, and it's finally happening! Now, a WiiU is a latest gen console that results as an upgrade to the original Wii. Plus, I followed the directions on how to hook the WiiU up by using my head.

As you folks know, the WiiU was high demand when it was first released. I shall think Nintendo's great perseverance. The manufacturer didn't have that much RPG games, but that don't matter because what matters is wanting a WiiU.

Fortunately, we have an upcoming WiiU exculsive JRPG game from Monolith Software coming next year, Xenoblade Chronicles X. This game is not a direct sequel as they speak, but it's a connection to the original Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii, which I never played. Xenoblade Chronicles X will have the gameplay similar to White Knight Chronicles and Final Fantasy XII. The game is in the final stages of development right now. Since it's a Nintendo-exclusive JRPG, it'll be daytime-evident unlike Sony's nighttime-evident gaming.

So, for the time being, if you're looking for a challenge and want to be friends with me, be sure to add me as "JT1994," my Nintendo Network ID. Although I didn't get the white one, but I did get the black deluxe set that comes with Super Mario 3D World and Nintendo Land.

When Microsoft will keep their act together?

If you want information about why Microsoft needs to keep their act together, then you're in the right place to know about why Microsoft needs help. When the very first original Xbox was released, Microsoft has RPGs so far. The project is Fable, a WRPG as an Xbox-exclusive. So far, Microsoft has more WRPGs, than JRPGs.

After the JRPGs are released on the original Xbox, the series from Japanese companies that did RPGs are dead, until then. The very first Fable is only for the original Xbox. It's a WRPG, but it's a Microsoft exclusive. I'm personally not too keen on WRPGs, but there might be some I might pick up.

When the Xbox 360 was first released, the folks from Japan have supported Microsoft so far. After that happened, Microsoft lost money in a failure way. That may be a heckhole and stupid. When Tales of Vesperia was released for the Xbox 360 in 2008, Namco Bandai has a "slump" that causes Microsoft to lose their act and let the Tales of series to die. Because of that situation, Namco Bandai, the Tales of team will never support Microsoft again. It was sad, but it happens. There's also a PS3 version, but never releases to the west.

Regardless, the Tales of team is not the only one who never want to support Microsoft. There's also other companies that'll never support the manufacturer. The Record of Agarest War series were made by Idea Factory and Compile Heart. They were the two companies that sadly stopped supporting. So far, two games of the series aren't exclusive, but the third game of the series is basically a Sony-exclusive since the two companies stopped supporting the Xbox 360.

There's also another JRPG that is done by Namco Bandai, but not the Tales of team. That game is called "MagnaCarta2." I remember playing it. I haven't gotten that far because the game is too buggy. The screen sometimes goes black after switching characters. When I tried to restart it, it's still there! It HAD to bug out because the team who made MagnaCarta2 went off the charts. I recall someone playing it, and someone didn't encountered any glitches. Maybe it wasn't the company that went off the charts, they forgot to patch it in, or my TV is faulty...

Also, there are RPGs that are exclusively for the Xbox 360 from Mistwalker, like Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. They have the western appeal with a little Japanese touch. As far as I know, the act of Microsoft was paid off with Mistwalker, which is basically a Japanese company.

When the Final Fantasy series continue, Square-Enix starts supporting Microsoft for Final Fantasy XIII, the first game for the Xbox 360 and PS3. FFXIII actually has a western appeal that is an RPG game. Square-Enix has a green light on the XIII saga. In the beginning of February this year, Lightning Returns releases to the US. I didn't get that far because of the real-time system, which is stupid. I wish I didn't get my hopes up for it.

In November 22, 2013, the Xbox One releases in a high demand status. So far this year, the Japanese comanies that did RPGs still didn't have any Xbox One games because of that situation. That really upset fans, even me. That makes me sad that we aren't getting any Tales of series for the Xbox One.

However, there's a Japanese game that is an action/adventure game, the Warriors series. They say that the Warriors series are big in Japan, not in the west. Well, there's a little bit of a western appeal. I'm not into the Warriors series much, but little did I know, but the Warriors series doesn't seem to affect Microsoft at all because action/adventure games are between the west and Japan.

Now, Microsoft needs to keep their act together after they lost money by letting the Japanese companies support them. So if this happens, they need to keep their act together to avoid losing money. That's what really upsets anyone who didn't understand the support. Because over the years, Microsoft kept their act together in the past. If the Japanese companies claim to stop supporting Microsoft, then the act is not together.

I'm not saying that Microsoft should know what mess they are in. Also, I'm not saying that they are in trouble because they didn't keep their act together. The reason why they need to keep their act together was because every time the Japanese companies support Microsoft, the manufacturer will lose money. That's not how they kept their act together. So basically, that will never happen again.

Top 5 RPGOTY 2014 - #1: Fairy Fencer F

The 5th and final day has finally begun. The final day of the Top 5 RPGOTY 2014 has the #1 best RPGOTY ever. Let's end things off with the #1 game, Fairy Fencer F. You remembered that the game has knights and warriors called Fencers, while the magic weapons left behind by the Goddess and the Vile God are Furies, right? Good, because you need to understand the story with a lot of plot.

I personally don't intend to compare events outside at this point, but I'll give you an exception. Let's say Fairy Fencer F has the Tenkai Knights plot because of shapeshifiting into Fury Mode. However, I do have intentions of referring them as "Tenkai Fencers" because they have the Fairize ability similar to Titan Mode. That made me want to enjoy it, but I didn't force myself to beat it. I took my time enjoying it while I can, then I have beaten it with taking my time.

The females of the game have hairstyles inspired to Wander Over Yonder's planet display zoom in at the beginning of each episode. Well, some, including "The Enemies." That is with the fast zoom in, of course. The game has a evolved version of Hyperdimension Neptunia's battle system, their English voices are great in quality and it was a nighttime hit, and I'm loving it so far! In fact, it was so nighttime evident that the sequel Advent Dark Force is coming next year as a PS4 exclusive! All that Tenkai Knights plot are affecting the fans in the world.

There's only one thing, though. I can't spoil the story, but I'll make an exception. The deja vu will occur after Tiara dies in the first time. During the deja vu, Ethel will join your party in Sherman's place. It's not that bad as Bravely Default's deja vu, though. Heck, it reminds me of Beowulf. That is until that "patrol" of Quarton for the Corekai.

While I officially stated that Fairy Fencer F as #1 RPGOTY, I'll give you quick information about the PS4 exclusive sequel Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force. The sequel will have Fang and the others, and two new characters, instead of three, you will have a party of four. Also, it'll have even more Tenkai Knights plot, also some Wander Over Yonder plot too...

That's all the information I had above, because more information for the sequel will be revealed soon. We will keep waiting for more.

Top 5 RPGOTY 2014 - #2: Tales of Xillia 2

The top 5 list continues today, as Day 4 honors the #2 RPGOTY. Today's #2 RPGOTY will be Tales of Xillia 2, a sequel to the original Tales of Xillia. The moment it came out, I made sure that I was one of the first people to order it on day one as well, unlike the first one. Because of the great perseverance, Namco Bandai entered a phase when they entered a slump after releasing Tales of Vesperia in the west in 2008 for the Xbox 360.

When that happened, I recall that Vesperia for the Xbox 360 was a darn fail because of the story and the series is no more, which I wasn't happy to oblige. Little did I know, but however, the PS3 exclusive revived the series. The first Tales of game for the PS3 was Graces, which I played before and loved it.

Tales of Xillia 2 is a delightful RPG. The battle system is a lot more .hack-esque because of Ludger changing weapons, the transformation stage, etc. The characters' English voices have great clips and perfect translation of the Japanese voices. The first one celebrates Tales of's 15th anniversary, and officially releases to the west last year. It was a long wait until then. The Collector's Edition has a statue of Ludger, the art book, etc.

Since I have Tales of Xillia 2 in the #2 spot, the #1, the best RPGOTY is up next and will be revealed tomorrow. What's it gonna be? There's no telling what it is.

Top 5 RPGOTY 2014 - #3: Demon Gaze

It's time to begin Day 3 of Top 5 RPGOTY. Today's #3 game will be a dungeon crawler RPG, Demon Gaze. The moment it releases, I have ordered it in day one, like I did with others. Also, I made sure that I was one of the first to enjoy the game. Except there's only one thing I hate so much. Once you get back to the inn, you need enough money have to pay the rent, which is just stupid and this is just blunt. But there's one good thing, though. There aren't any annoying FOEs like on Etrian Odyssey. While Demon Gaze is similar to Etrian Odyssey, the combat system isn't fully animated. The enemies are in a 2D model.

My team has paid off because I strengthened it up. It was a delightful dungeon crawler RPG, but not as delightful as Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, though, but with an exception of FOEs. I'm personally not to keen on FOEs, unless if I'm confident in my strength. At least the Demons are handy to use. Really, if I'm going to enjoy those dungeon crawlers, then don't get me too worked up.

As I'm stating Demon Gaze as #3, the #1 RPGOTY, the best game of the year is getting closer and closer. The #2 game will be revealed tomorrow.

Top 5 RPGOTY 2014 - #4: Bravely Default

It's now time to start Day 2 of Top 5 RPGOTY 2014. Today's #4 RPG will honor the Nintendo-exclusive game called Bravely Default. As you guys might not know, Bravely Default is a most popular game made by the Final Fantasy team. The moment it was released, the rental date pushed back to a later date, but I was able to order it to start the year full of blockbusters.

Now, as you may know, I'm a Final Fantasy fan and I play the series. Ever since Bravely Default releases, it was high in popularity because they waited 3 years to play, including me. There's a minor flaw, once you get the main thing done, deja vu will occur until you reach the end. The side quests are just a pushover to clear because they are sub stories that are a part of the story. That is until that "deja vu" occurs until the end. It may be humilating, but you need to get the hang of it.

So if you had a 3DS, then I can highly recommend it to anyone. A sequel called Bravely Second was announced, and I'm definetely looking forward to it. That stated, I have stated that this 3DS game Bravely Default is RPGOTY #4. Tomorrow, RPGOTY #3 will be revealed, so don't touch that remote.

Top 5 RPGOTY 2014 - #5: Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth

In this moment, we've had one heck of a crazy year. Thanks to the moment, we had fun playing and beating those RPG blockbusters we love. This year, there aren't any RPG games to release after today's release of Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix. We are so sad that there's aren't any RPG games to release this year. But we don't have a reason to be sad because there are more RPG games to be on store shelves and be rentable next year. Next year, we are going to see The Awakened Fate Ultimatum, Persona 5, Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation, Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force and a lot more blockbusters to hit stores next year.

Now, since I have that out of my system, it's time to start this next Top 5 list, RPGOTY. Time to kick it off with today's #5 game, which is Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, an Etrian Odyssey-style game that has the cast of P3 and P4. The one thing is that the P3 cast is filled with DP action, while the P4 cast is filled with BW action. The characters are in a miniature form that is also seen on anime cutscenes. The battle system has a catchy music and it's similar to Etrian Odyssey. The only thing I don't like are those darn FOEs that are annoying to deal with.

Also, this game has those redundant events, including "Junpei's Believe It or Don't!," Junpei's story that ripped off  "Ripley's Believe It or Not!" that has scary events. As far as I know, I was impressed on how this gross story became such a tragic event. In the best-case scenario, Pokemon plot will be tolerated in a way. Thanks to the difficulty that lets me continue after my team is dead, I'm prepared for every battle to win, except on FOEs.

Because of that catchy music and Pokemon plot, I made Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth RPGOTY #5. RPGOTY #4 will be revealed tomorrow.

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth - out tomorrow

Well, this is it, today's the last day of waiting for the heavy blockbuster exclusively on the 3DS, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, to hit stores in the US. As mentioned before, Atlus has published this dungeon crawler RPG that has stars from Persona 3 and 4. Like Etrian Odyssey, you will have a party of five characters as you journey through the tower with 18 characters, including Persona 3's protagonist. The characters have a "miniature" form that contains parodies of events.

You'll encounter FOEs in the field, like on the Etrian Odyssey series and your team will be organized as well. Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth will be the last 3DS RPG game of the year, but not the last RPG of the year because up last will be the PS3 exculsive, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix.

Mind Zero - review

Thanks to the blue moon of gaming, we Persona fans have never took it personally, even if it's nothing personal to those other non Persona fans. Most of all, Persona was made in Japanese companies. Every once in a blue moon, you seen Persona fans like that every year and we didn't think it's something personal every day. If the niche has something to do with fans, then there's something you didn't be happy to oblige just now.

We have learned that since Persona games are big in Japan, it takes a lot of responsibility to become a Japanese fan. It's too niche to handle such opportunity and it's better this way. What this Persona rip-off Mind Zero is about, you ask? Well, let's read this review.

The Story:

Mind Zero is about a young highschooler named Kei Takanashi, who was sent into the shop where the "Undertaker" makes the rules. The rules stated that who ever enters her shop, he or she will stay forever until a person chooses a weapon to live or die. Kei's head predicts the weapon that a Grim Reaper uses, so Kei chooses a scythe, and he has chosen the weapon wisely to keep his life. After that happened, Kei has acquired the power of the MIND, which stands for Major Inner Node Displacement and it's also known as a Persona with a built-in barrier that protects their lives. In the rain of the middle of the city, he met a female highschooler, Shizuku Kamina. She is a friend of Kei's since. The situation took a turn for the worse when the cops have arrived in a spot to look for someone who wields the power of the MIND.

While Mind Zero is a Persona clone or rip-off, there's no point in playing the Persona games and knowing the world to play this. Because it has its own cast of characters and its own storyline, but exception of auto reading, which is activated with the triangle button and Persona 4 plot to some of the Mind Zero cast with the same voice as characters from Persona 3 and 4, as well as school life.

The Gameplay:

The world map above has towns, which are big pieces of revealing areas. When you select a town you want to go, you'll see a lot of places in a face down view.

In the town map, you control the blue circle. The green circle means optional while the pink circle is a part of the story. There are symbols in the map marked. The person symbol means character, the skyscrapers symbol means shop and station and the door symbol means a dungeon. There's also some optional character events that are not a part of the story, so don't miss them. Amamiya isn't the only town you'll go, there's two ways to travel from town to town. Press circle to exit out of town or go to a station.

Once you're in the dungeon, you will find some symbols, like the red "Event" symbol. It starts a battle on special occasions. Make sure you're prepared for it. After certain steps, you will enter battle, like other dungeon crawler RPGs. Especially Demon Gaze.

The combat system is mostly similar to other dungeon crawlers, but Mind Zero's combat system is better, but closely similar to Demon Gaze's combat system, except you have a party of three, not five. Each of the character has three gauges above their full name. The purple gauge is TP (Technical Point), which is consumed using Skills and filled up by fighting. The blue gauge is LP (Life Point), which is consumed by the enemies attacking you directly. Last, the orange gauge is MP (Mind Point), which is consumed by the enemies attacking your MIND. Once your MP reaches 0 by the enemy, you will enter a MIND Break state. During that state, you'll be stunned on your first turn, you won't act on your second turn. On your third turn, you will recover MP while acting. But when your MP reaches 0 without the enemy you won't enter a MIND Break state, and you can act on your first turn. Make sure you keep an eye on your MP gauge. The best thing is, you can recover TP and MP, by going to "Charge."

There's also a "Burst" command. You need 5 TP to activate Burst Mode. During "Burst," "Attack", "Items" and "Escape" are shown. With Burst, you act now when you select a command for a character. You can also keep on Bursting until the enemies are no more. There's no limit to it, so keep usng Burst.

Wield the Power of the MIND:

Activating the power of the MIND has its benefits. MINDs are like ghosts, but different. During battle, press the L button to activate or deactivate your MIND. Once your MIND is activated, "Attack," "Skills," and "Burst" are shown. But without your MIND, all commands are shown. To use Skills, you need your MIND in battle. All skills require TP, but some require LP, like on the Persona series. After every end of turn, your MIND will take a little of damage on MP. With your MIND activated, your attacks skyrocket, but not to some enemies who are resistant to MIND attacks, so keep pouring non-MIND attacks who are resistant to MIND attacks.

In the Skill menu, you can assign skills to your possession with the square button. Skills, like "Candle," for instance. It can heal your LP. Spaces are unlocked at certain levels and you can assign skills you are comfortable with. There are skills you can earn at the end of battle won. At the end of every battle won, you'll earn skill points, which are consumed in a shop in a town. Skill points are needed to enhance skills in a shop under "Enhance." You can upgrade skills, but you don't need skill points, you need a certain skill to combine with.

Organizing Your Party:

Mind Zero has a full cast of six characters. You can organize your party, by pressing the square button in the camp menu, which is opened with triangle. All you got to do is to press X to assign to or unassign from the battlefield. When the character's portrait is darkened, he or she is not in the battlefield. When the character's portrait is light, he or she is in the battlefield. You can carry up to three people on your team. Outside characters can earn EXP in the end of the battle, but in a slower amount and can cheer you on during battle.

Enjoying School Life:

Like the Persona series, Mind Zero has school moments. There are some scenes that has something to do with enjoying school life. There are some stuff, including the next day, after school times and tardiness of classes. Class will be in session for every possible plot and contingency to happen. Sadly, you can't move on to a day manually because there's no inn on each town and you can't sleep manually. On optional spots, class will be taken.

The Conclusion:

Thanks to the Persona fans, Mind Zero became one of my favorites in my list because school life occurs, the characters have a Persona and the combat system is amazing. If you think you don't know how you feel about it, then you should know how you feel about it because I can call it perfect, enough said. But there's also some slow parts into the game, but that don't mean you can't enjoy it. Not like I could hate this game, but nevertheless, it's called perfect.

Pros:

+All that Persona 4 Plot Heard
+School Life Easily Enjoyable
+Good Sound Effects Quality

Cons:

-Frustrating on some situations

Mind Zero is going to be given a solid and perfect 10 because I felt about how happy I am about this game. This will be the game that you Persona fans will enjoy.

RGR Fun Thought - RPG Games of 2015

It's that time of year again where we are nearing the end of 2014 with a couple RPG games left to release in the US. It feels like this year was fast since TGS 2014 showcased a whole lot of RPG games, but that doesn't mean it can put a halt to whatever things to make this year crazy and waiting for more RPGs to be released this year. Because in fact, this year was crazier than what happened last year since serious things occur once in a blue moon. This year, what's left are Dragon Age: Inquistion, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labryinth and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix.

One thing about next year was how crazy will it be. In the first week of December, I'll be doing the next top 5 list, which is RPGOTY 2014 Top #5. This top 5 list will contain 5 RPGs that are chosen by me, one per day. I can't tell you until December, though. You need to wait and see.

Also, I'll be working on the RGR Coming Soon Guide of 2015, like I did with the 2014 one at the beginning of the year. The guide will have the list of RPG games that will release in 2015. The guide of this year has a whole lot, so we don't know if next year will have a lot. This year is the best! January didn't have any RPG games, but other months do this year. Next year, we are going to see more blockbusters, so there's no reason to be sad.

Don't blame me if I'm wrong because I've been enjoying those RPG blockbusters in my life, and I can't wait for more to come out next year!

Fairy Fencer F - review

After the release of Aksys' SRPG, Record of Agarest War, Compile Heart enters a phase that causes the company to lose money when supporting Microsoft, upon the release of the very first Record of Agarest War game. Because of that, Compile Heart will support Sony for the rest of their lives since RPGs are big in Japan.

Every once in a blue moon, NIS America teams up with Compile Heart and we didn't be happy to oblige since that happened in a while. That recently happened after the two companies that did Record of Agarest War gleefully stopped supporting Microsoft. Little did I know, but we didn't even know that RPGs are singlehandedly big in Japan.

Since times, Compile Heart had permission with Idea Factory and developed their JRPGs. This year, Compile Heart released their latest JRPG game from the guys that brought you the game with females, Hyperdimension Neptunia. Now let's just take it easy and read a review, ladies and gentlemen.

Fairy Fencer F is a game from the development team of Hyperdimension Neptunia that allows you to take control of the knights who wield the magic weapons that are left behind by the two spirits. This is the first half of the game and the sequel, "Advent Dark Force" is coming to the US next year on the next gen console.

The World with Fencers and Furies:

Fairy Fencer F has a main thing, Fencers and Furies. Fencers are knights who wield weapons that are left behind by the two spirits, the Goddess and the Vile God that are called Furies. The Goddess is capable of occuring world peace, while the Vile God is capable of occuring world domination. Once the Vile God is awakened, he will destroy the world. But once the Goddess awakens, she will bring world peace, which has joyful harmony.

The Story:

A young boy named Fang got sent in jail for stealing food from someone. After his sleeping, a female voice is heard. She was a fairy named Eryn. Eryn informed Fang to get out of jail, but despite Fang's grumpiness, he wants to stay in jail since this is a relaxation. After convincing, Fang and Eryn escape from jail to the entrance to the town. A sword sticks on the ground and nobody will pull it out. So Fang pulls out the sword and became one of the Fencers. With the Fury in his hand, him and Eryn have a mission to collect the 100 Furies to break the seal and awaken the Goddess to wish for world peace.

The Gameplay:

In the outside of combat, you'll find some items scattered around the field. There are enemies on the field. When you make contact with an enemy, press the X button to do a Symbol Attack, which gives your allys the advantage. Time carefully or you'll be ambushed in two ways, the enemy touches you from behind or your timing is off.

The battle system is completely similar to Hyperdimension Neptunia because you can press the X button to attack and the triangle button to open commands and et cetera. The character's portrait has a Tension gauge, which is filled up by fighting and vice versa. However, it decreases when used a healing item and missing the enemy. When the gauge reaches the third milestone, it changes color to green, which means you're ready to level up. By level up, I mean Fairize. When you're in bad shape after trying to defeat enemies, you can return to town to recover HP and SP.

SP is a gauge that is consumed using skills and magic, which is performed under Command. To learn new skills and magic, use WP to learn skills and boost your stats. WP is Weapon Points, which are earned at the end of the battle. With WP, you can boost your stats and learn new skills, magic and attacks after when certain requirements are met. Sadly, it isn't as much, but you can try to reserve WP if possible.

Fairizing to Achieve Fury Mode:

Like I said before, you can Fairize when the Tension gauge has at least three milestones. To Fairize, open the command menu with the triangle button and go to "Fairize." It is way similar to Tenkai Knights' Titan Mode. During Fury Mode, their ATK and DEF skyrocket and the jingle plays until everyone's Tension gauge goes down to the first milestone or cancels manually, which is selected under Command. Also, you can use it on critical times like when your HP is low.

Avalanche Attack:

To occur an Avalanche Attack, keep pouring the attacks that the enemy is weak to until it reaches a certain point. An Avalanche Attack is a hyper combo that allows your allies to take turns attacking. The more attacks the enemy is weak to, the longer the Avalanche Attack.

Creating Your Combo:

To create your combo, you need 10 WP to learn the 2nd attack, 200 WP to learn the 3rd attack and 1000 WP to learn the 4th attack. Go to Weapon Boost under Battle Options. On the 2nd, 3rd and 4th attacks, you can create your own combo. After the 1st attack, press the X, triangle, or the square button perform a combo.

Challenges:

The challenges are from Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. Here's an example, if you jump 10 times, the first level of the challenge is cleared. For every challenge you clear will boost your max stats. Do you have what it takes to clear them all?

The Godly Revival:

In the inn, you will enter the Godly Revival, which has the Goddess and the Vile God. After every battle you won, the shell will crack open after pulling the Fury out of body parts. You need is a fairy to pull them out. The more Furies you release, the better the rank. Make sure you revive the Goddess, not the Vile God. The Vile God will cause world domination, so don't let him.

World Shaping:

World Shaping is a process of making areas granting bonuses. In the World Map, press square and choose any fairy you are comfortable with. To turn off the effect, pull out the Fury by selecting the name of the fairy with the sword symbol before it. When there's a question mark, stab the area to reveal the destination.

The Fairy's Effect:

Each of the fairy has effects. You can equip the effects by selecting Equip under Battle Options and selecting the very last space that says "Resonance Effect." With the Resonance Effect, your stats are affected and you can earn Fairy EXP at the end of each battle. The maximum level is 10.

The Conclusion:

Fairy Fencer F is not a game intended for everyone. If you don't know how you feel about it, you can rent it as possible. In fact, it's a fun game that fans will enjoy. All that Tenkai Knights plot are affecting fans in the world alike. That is until the plot, of course. Just because there's deja vu doesn't mean you can fail. You can even call them Tenkai Fencers if you wish, so there's no need to fear about it. It's not that perfect, but you can still enjoy.

Pros:

+Excellent Music Quality
+Great Gameplay Quality

Cons:

There are no cons

Although Fairy Fencer F is an excellent game, overall, but there's some fast parts into the game that has all that plot. Which is why I'm giving it a 9.0, which is close to perfect and I'm definetely going to be aiming for and looking forward to the sequel that has more plot than usual and this will be a great game for you to enjoy.

Posting downtime info

Fans, I'm here to tell you that I'm very sorry I haven't posted for one month because I can't think of my own ideas and that's all. As you can see, my mother is working as a nurse and I've been looking for a job for my life, but that failed since I need to go back to school for that. But there's one thing, though. I was finally able to finish Ar Nosurge. That JRPG was alright since it's a link up between Ciel Nosurge and Ar tonelico. Plus, a Vita port was announced and I don't know if I'm going to pick it up or not.

So today, me and my dad went out to eat before I refer to GameFly to order Fairy Fencer F, a JRPG about the warriors who wield those weapons that are known as "Fencers" and the weapons that are left behind by both the Goddess and the Evil God are now known as "Furies." It has a Neptunia-esque battle system that is evolved. Plus, a PS4 sequel was announced and will be released in the US next year. Because of the posting downtime, a review about Fairy Fencer F will be written soon. But not a review about Ar Nosurge because of the complications I been having, but it's finally over.

Although the downtime was lasted longer than I thought. I'll make sure that I'll post frequently.

Nippon Ichi wants to support the PS4

You think Disgaea 5 is the only Nippon Ichi title for the PS4? Well, think again, guys, because the whole company wants to support the PS4 to get more titles to be made ahead of time. The press conference at TGS 2014 is a big event showcasing the Japanese games, including the first game developed by Nippon Ichi, a Japanese company that did the Disgaea series, as well as other games.

Also, Nippon Ichi does not condone any of their JRPGs being showcased in TGS 2014. In fact, they do not condone Sony's favor of the genre, even those that are entirely based on their jobs and money. Now, there will be more Nippon Ichi's games on the PS4, but we don't know what they are, so we have to keep waiting until more are revealed.

-A new Ys game
-God Eater 2: Rage Burst
-Disgaea 5

Although E3 didn't showcase any of the JRPGs, but the pre-Tokyo Game Show did because they are responsible of showcasing them. There are more to come. Above is my small list.

Do you have a taste for Tales of series?

After the traditional release of Tales of Xillia 2, I have my tastes for Tales of series. It may be a tragedy, but it's one of Namco's JRPGs that you will not hate. I know most people loved the series and I do, a lot! Now, what next is going to be Tales of Hearts for the Vita. However, it's a GameStop exclusive so, I won't be able to rent it.

Next year, we're going to see Tales of Zestiria. So far, more info revealed about the game. The battle system in ToZ is a lot .hack//G.U. because instead of fighting monsters, you will be fighting monsters on the spot you're on during the outside of combat. Also, you can fight monsters on the narrow spots. The narrower the spot, the harder it gets. It's going to come out next year since it's celebrating Tales of's 20th anniversary. If you had a taste for it, then I'll be satisfied. That is after that tragic part on Xillia 2. Although it didn't hold me off until Eliza releases on Skullgirls Encore, but I enjoyed it to death like I did on the original and gotten most of the jobs and the elite monsters.

That made me want to put the other games on hold for it. Now, as stated, there will be more Tales of series to come. The taste for Tales of series moves on as we get more. We will always appreciate your series, Namco Bandai.

Tales of Xillia 2 - review

Last year, the first Tales of Xillia traditionally releases to the west and many other people are loving it. When it comes to Tales of series, Xillia was the latest game that celebrates the 15th anniversary. This year, the sequel has finally came to the US that takes place a year after the first game. How great is it? Well, time to find out when reading a review.

Tales of Xillia 2 is a sequel to the original one that continues the storyline with a new generation, the next level and the next generation. The first game's cast of characters wear different clothes on.

The Story:

The game is about a young man named Ludger Kresnik, a protagonist who works at an office and living with a pet cat Rollo and a young girl named Elle Mel Marta. His world turned upside down when a stopwatch contains magic. The stopwatch was a tool to his brother Julius Kresnik. With it, he'll possess the power of time to unleash catastrophes upon the new setting, Elympios, a country that lacks spirit artes and not as huge as Rieze Maxia, which produces spirit artes. It's more like a rustic country to the story. After planning a new adventure, they are going to the sacred land where it can grant people wishes, the Land of Canaan. To get there, it requires the 5 keys in the fractured worlds.

The Gameplay:

Tales of Xillia 2 uses a 3D world like the first game, and you can gather materials outside of town. You can view the world map by pressing the R3 button and it allows you to get there to any place directly. If you see a star, it's the progress of the main story. The red "!" is a character-specific story, which are not a part of the main story. They are sub stories that doesn't affect the story. However, once you cleared a chapter of the character's story, a bonus scene will be viewed.

Paying the Debt:

The money to the debt is 15,000,000 gald. Here, the woman of the bank named Nova will walk you through on paying the debt. She can notify you once your payment is due or you can press the R2 button to open up the debt menu. When you reached a certain amount of gald, you can proceed the story. There's one way to earn a lot of money. You can search for giant monsters or elite monsters. Once you killed one, report to the board in town and it'll earn you a lot of money and points.

The Kitty Dispatch:

It's a resource that can collect data on cats you found so far. You can find as many cats as you can. Once you find one, the dispatch fills up. There's a special reward you'll be getting when you captured all of the cats... It also allows you to ask one of the cats to scout a specified area to gather some materials.

The Skits:

They are mini scenes that has some craziness. To view one, press the Select button when the title appears on the lower left corner of the screen. The title appears at certain times. All of the series have skits. In the sequel, you will choose which text using the L1 or R1 on the skits, too. Most of the text choices are unlimited, but some are timed, but not on the skits.

The Combat System:

Tales of Xillia 2 has the return of the Assault Counter and Link Artes. First and foremost, the AC gauge depletes on every attack with the X button. As mentioned before, when it reaches 0, the AC refills instantly and you will not step back like Tales of Graces f. Also, special moves or artes can deplete not just the AC gauge, TP gauge as well, which can be depleted by using artes with the Circle button.

Harnessing the Power of Linking:

Let's talk about linking. Linking allows you to partner up with another character and work together defeating enemies. As mentioned before, you can link up with another character by pressing the direction on the D-pad. Linking basics aren't the only part, but Link Artes are returned. The Linked gauge is located on the left side of the screen. When it reaches a milestone, the top part of the gauge flashes. That means the Link Arte is ready to go. To perform one, press the R2 button when the swords icon appears on the character. After the gauge is full, you go into Over Limit until the gauge runs out. During Over Limit, your AC and TP will not drop.

The Weapon Change:

Ludger can change weapons by pressing L1 and R1 at a same time. The battle system is getting a little .hack since he can change weapons. He can change from dual swords to sledgehammer to dual guns. That's the cycle to the weapon change. You can reverse the cycle by pressing L1 and R2 at a same time.

The Allium Orb:

Since the weapon was destroyed in the first game, the Lilium Orb stopped working and have evolved into the Allium Orb. On the Allium Orb menu, you can assign the character to an elemental type. Depending on the type you're assigned, you will earn Elemental Ore to learn skills and artes. You can find some Ore in battle and outside of battle. When you earned a certain amount of Ore, you learn a new skill and a new arte.

The Chromatus:

Ludger possess the power of time. The transformation allows him to possess the power of the Time Awakening. To turn on Chromatus, simultaneously press the L3 and the R3 buttons. During that state, Ludger won't get knocked back and attack rate is increased greatly. Depending on the level, the attack rate increases. The time limit to the Chromatus decreases over time or by taking damage. The circle gauge is located at the lower right corner increases over time, but stops increasing during free run, which is performed with L2 + left analog stick.

The Conclusion:

Tales of Xillia 2 is an excellent game that fans will believe in. Its storyline is epic and the combat system is upgraded. In fact, it's a big of a hit that everybody will love it. It looks great. It has a .hack-esque battle system that causes Ludger to change weapons and I'm loving every part of it! The parts of the story have any tragedy. So if you own a Collector's Edition, then you had a statue of Ludger, a CD containing the game's soundtrack, an artbook and the game.

Pros:

+Excellent improvement over the first game
+Perfect gameplay quality
+Excellent plot

Cons:

-Tragedy parts of a story

Although Tales of Xillia 2 is an excellent game. Playing it makes me think about the original game, which I miss so much. Because of that, I'm giving it a perfect 10 because I feel the way how the game has a few tragic events and the battle system gets improved. One of the best RPG games that get me excited to the bitter end.

Tales of Xillia 2 - out tomorrow!

This is it, ladies and gentlemen! Besides Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Ultimate Edition, today's the last day of waiting for Tales of Xillia 2 to finally hit stores in the west tomorrow! Namco Bandai's RPG game will release to the US tomorrow. Tales of Xillia 2 is a direct sequel to the first game that has a darker storyline and a new setting to the sequel, Elympios, a small world where the sequel will take place while Rieze Maxia is the setting to the first game.

A new protagonist was named Ludger Kresnik, who works at a office. After that, he came across a young girl, Elle Marta. In the game, players will go through the story with Ludger and a story that was taken into the next level.

The sequel has the return of Link Artes that are featured in the first game that players can link with any active members in battle to team up and defeat waves of enemies in the battlefield. A weapon change is added from switching from a sledgehammer, dual pistols and dual blades, which players can now be able to. Remember, be sure to beat the first game before it releases tomorrow!

.hack//G.U. Vol. 1: Rebirth - review

The company called Namco Bandai published their RPGs. Mostly, their RPG's aren't popular in the west here, but they are big in my favorite country Japan. That includes the company's main series, the Tales of series. Many years ago, Bandai publishes the .hack series. That is when CyberConnect2 made it. The series were old because after many years later, the stores are no longer selling the series. Because the whole series comes in parts or volumes.

Japan's RPG games are so far popular, including the .hack series. As a fact, the whole country with players all over still cared about the series. I guess it's time to read a review about it.

.hack//G.U. Vol. 1: Rebirth is the beginning part of Project G.U. After the previous series, different players are here, and the massive MMORPG gets better than ever.

The Desktop:

The Desktop is .hack's home where you can check out the other stuff. In order to progress the game, you need to log off "The World" to check your email. There's other things you can do in the Desktop, like Crimson VS, which is out of service until either after meeting certain conditions or until Vol. 2. If you're looking for a refresher course, check out Online Jack under News Capture and the news.

Online Jack:

Online Jack, one of my favorite events made by Salvador Aihara, is the clip that gives the scoop on what's happening to "The World." CC Corp offers 3 episodes every part. The professors are salvaging what they can from the secrets of "The World." In many ways, the professors salvage the secrets on how "The World" becomes a dangerous MMO. The situation took a turn for the worse when the disease was caused from playing the online game. Salvador films on what's the scoop to the game. So far, a couple of people rejected him in the first episode. While Online Jack was set within "The World," you can use some refresher course.

Welcome to "The World:"

"The World" is a MMORPG where players around the game can live, gather items, fight monsters, etc. In fact, this is the setting where .hack takes place at. The whole game is expanded to "The World: Revision 2," which is a setting for .hack//G.U. This MMORPG contains a some things that aren't in the previous "The World." This MMO has @HOMEs, farming, jobs, quests and more. However, "The World" is not a real game you can play, so don't try this at home.

The main part is using the gate that can take you to an area using the 1st, 2nd and 3rd words to the area. That is called the Chaos Gate. The Chaos Gate wards off monsters and can take you to any place. It's sort of like a magical portal, but better.

The Story of Rebirth:

The main character was named Haseo, the Terror of Death, who just went back from lv. 133 to lv. 1. It's because of Tri-Edge, a bitter villain who marks the "A" shaped signs on the walls. In Mac Anu, Haseo meets the two degenerates, Silabus and Gaspard. Their first adventure takes place in an area where beginners start their journey. While the situation goes bleak, Haseo is nearly ticked off when all his equipment is gone. Thanks to Tri-Edge, Haseo must defeat him.

Eternal City Mac Anu:

Rebirth takes place at a sunset city called Mac Anu. The city is for beginnner players, whose level is 1-50. The city was also in a previous .hack, which is a setting for Part 1: Infection. It's in the delta server.

Managing Your Party:

In order to manage your party, go to the menu by pressing the Triangle button and go to Party. You see a list of member addresses. You can have up to 2 people with you. There are three statuses. The Online status means they are free to be invited anytime. Busy means they can't be invited because they have important things to do first. Offline means they are logged out.

The Gameplay:

Now, the gameplay in .hack//G.U. looks completely different than .hack because it works more like an action RPG. There are enemies on the field and dungeon. To start the battle, simply press X. To start the battle with the surprise attack, make sure you look behind the monsters and press X without getting caught. During the battle, the blue fence makes an area to make it virtually impossible to escape. Unless you have the special item that can let you escape only when you're in trouble. As you level up, monsters get weaker and weaker. It's exactly like other MMORPGs. Make sure you pay attention to your HP, which can indicate your life.

The blue gauge is the SP gauge, which can be consumed using Skills. Skills can be used using the R1 button to perform a Skill Trigger. To learn new skills, earn EXP for your weapon. When the enemy's status flashing purple, it represents a chance for a Rengeki Finish. As you use the Skill Trigger on the enemy with the purple aura, the Rengeki is activated. You get bonus EXP for using the Rengeki.

The Power of Morality:

The Morale gauge was indicated at the top right corner. To fill it up, your allies' message lets out the particles to the gauge. When it's full, press the Square button to activate your Awakening. In Rebirth, you can have the Beast Awakening, which can give out speed and attack power, making enemies slow by comparison until the gauge runs out. The Demon Awakening allows you to tap X to execute a powerful magic attack, which doesn't require SP.

The Avatar Battles:

When Haseo summons his Avatar, he is able to fight in Avatar battles. His Avatar is Skeith. As you reach a certain part, you can start an Avatar battle. The controls are pretty simple. Press Square for range attacks and X for melee attacks. The enemy is stunned when shots are at it a lot of times. When it's stunned, get up close and use the melee attacks. When the enemy's HP reaches 0, the protect break is performed. During that state, quickly use the Data Drain before time runs out by holding X until the gauge reaches at max then release X to shoot a ball of energy. The enemy can stop for a split second then quickly shoot it. Data Drain will take the enemy's data.

The Arena:

The fighting arena takes place at Warring City Lumina Cloth where the tournament is always held. In Rebirth, the Demon Palace Tournament was being held. The arena battles have the same action as regular battles, but in the arena battles, you can't use items, the opponents can use the Rengeki and it can be countered. To use the counterattack, aim the Skill Trigger to an enemy's status flashing yellow. It won't deal as much damage as the regular one. After beating the opponents, WP is earned. WP represents your score in the rankings. During the tournament, if you die, you can retry, but since you can't retire in a tournament, you will be forced to get a Game Over if you decided not to retry. Make sure you level up before you enter in the tournament.

The Conclusion:

The fact about .hack//G.U. was it wasn't a hard game to play. The good points was "The World's" main thing was creative. I can call this perfect because there's no bad points to it. Even Bandai fans would play this game that was very old. But Rebirth is the first part of the series, so there will be more action. Although I could call it niche since Japan uses a lot of hard working. That is when the old anniversary of .hack is celebrated many years ago.

Pros:

+Epic storyline
+Great music quality

Cons:

There are no cons

If you're a .hack fan, then you should know this old game will be given a perfect 10. Also, you can order it online if necessary since the stores no longer selling the series.

RGR Fun Thought - .hack

So I know I have already written some thoughts, but I guess I'll do it again. Okay, when I was walking to the mailbox, I found this brown bag that has this thing inside. When I looked inside, I found that it was a game inside! Many years ago, .hack//G.U. releases to the west. As of right now, the stores no longer sell .hack games anymore, but I ordered it from Amazon and the used one costs $40.

I picked up .hack//G.U. Vol. 1: Rebirth, which I'm hyped for years! Amazon's PS2 games don't have such a deal. As for the game, it looks outrageous! The battle system was different and feels a lot like Xillia. Since I gotten everything down the line, I just noticed that Tales of Xillia 2 is around the corner, so this is definetely gonna keep me busy until Xillia 2 releases to the US in August! Sadly, I haven't gotten this far into the game yet, and no Lynchpin yet. Now, a review about it will be written soon.

Also, I've been hoping for .hack//G.U. HD Collection for years and still no dice! But I heard a new .hack game was being trademarked. I hope it's a collection. So far, we have Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5/2.5 Remix and Tales of Symphonia Chronicles.

RGR Fun Thought - Visual Novels

Yours truly, I haven't posted in a long time, but now that I posted again, the next fun thought is here. Have you read visual novels before? They are types of games that don't have the gameplay and for you to watch. They can be boring after awhile and can make you sleepy, but they can help you pass the time. I'm not a huge fan of visual novels, but I planned to pick up XBlaze Code: Embryo, a visual novel that was set within the BlazBlue world. The visual novel contains BlazBlue references and will let you enravel into the BlazBlue mythologies that can be dramatic as Skullgirls, a rip-off version of BlazBlue.

A young boy was named Touya Kagari, whose world is turning upside down. That is until the "seithr levels" rise. If you're a BlazBlue fan like me, then you might experience it. Now, with that stated, I'm looking for a Skullgirls visual novel. Will I ever look for more ideas? Who will make a contradiction for next year's RPG games? The answers will be revealed soon.

Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky - review

"Atelier," the French word means "workshop." It comes from a French learning that fans will love. After the Arland series, Gust moves on the next Atelier world. The world of Dusk was published by Tecmo Koei. The company have published it in NIS America's stead or have the former company publish it. Japanese fans and players around the country love this niche JRPG game. What's this niche game's about? Let's read the review, ladies and gentlemen.

Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky is the next Atelier game in the Dusk series that has two protagonists. It was considered as the first half of the sequel to Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk. However, it wasn't the final game in the Dusk series.

Welcome to Colseit:

Colseit, a small town where people and animals live together in a joyful and rustic harmony. The town has a few houses, a plaza, the urban area and other various places. It wasn't that big of a town, but they are some farms in Colseit. This is the town you will be living.

Introduction:

The game has two protagonists. Escha Malier is a female protagonist who uses a staff in combat. She uses a cauldron to synthesize various goodies, as well as rare goods. Her specialty is using a cauldron. She's not the only alchemist around town, but another alchemist is here with her.

Logix a.k.a. Logy is a male protagonist who uses a sword in combat. He never did alchemy before, but he uses a blacksmith's tool to make and imbue weapons. In fact, he's the new person in town. Him and Escha are both alchemists.

Synthesizing:

You can synthesize in the cauldron. The cauldron is only used by Escha. You will only need to find the materials to make various goods. You just need to follow the recipes and so on. When the recipe lacks an item, you can't make it just yet until you find the right material outside of town. When you get the necessary materials, you just give it the material's elemental effect. Be sure to watch your cost points. A lack of CP will sometimes cause the synthesis to fail. After the synthesis is complete, you give the item properties that can buff up goods using property points. Synthesizing is time consuming, so plan carefully

Imbuing:

The same thing as synthesizing, but making weapons. The blacksmith's tool is only used by Logy. You just do the same thing like on synthesizing, like following the recipes, giving an elemental effect, and giving the weapon's properties.

Completing Assignments:

Marion, a manager wants you to finish at least one major assignment. You can finish as many assignments as possible before the period ends. When the star count reaches 10, the assignment is completed. The assignments are combat, gathering, exploring, etc.. Once you have completed a major assignment, you will have free time until the period ends, but don't forget to do the final report. You can make a line that is diagonal, vertical or horizontal after completing a certain number of assignments. The assignment book reminds anyone of a BINGO game.

Taking Requests:

If you want a request, you can talk to the man of the administration office, which is Solle. He can give you requests. If you see the "Report" sign at the beginning of the request, you can easily complete it without undertaking it. Make sure you pay close attention to the deadline or the request is expired.

Gathering:

On the outside of town, there are some gathering points that are found. When you get to the gathering point, simply press X to gather materials. You can gather as many materials as you can, but not too many because your basket has a capacity of a certain number. When you return to town, you put the items from your basket to the container. The container don't have a capacity since it's a big box.

The Gameplay:

The combat system can hold up to 6 people. 3 on the front and 3 on the back. The back group is a support that can help out the front group. Remember that action from Mana Khemia? When the person is in the back, he/she recovers HP (Hit Point) and SP (Skill Point) as time passes. Make sure you switch by going to the switch command before the person dies.

The gauge on the lower right corner is the Support gauge. When you have at least one level of the gauge, just do any action and quickly press any button before the buttons disappear to start a Support Attack. Or if you decide not to use the Support Attack, just press the circle button. When you have at least a little bit of the Support gauge, quickly press any button to do a Support Guard, or just cancel it with the circle button. When the damage rate reaches, 200%, you can do a Special Support Attack. Keep using the Support Attacks until the rate reaches 200%. When it does, a "Special Support Attack" phrase flashes and press one button quickly, and it doesn't require SP, but skills can consume SP, and they can be used in the Skill menu.

When the characters reach Lv. 30, they are able to use the finishing move. They are very powerful moves that can finish off a character. To perform one, just fill up the Special gauge by doing actions until it reaches 100%. When it does, a "Special" command will be shown. Just go there and watch the special unfolds. A character-specific jingle will play when there's one enemy left with a low HP on the battlefield during their special. In fact, they are like Corporeal Magic Attacks from Blue Dragon. However, Escha and Logy don't have a Special.

Field Events:

The vertical gauge is located below the time and it can be filled up by fighting or gathering. When it reaches at least 100%, press the right, left and down direction pad. Tough monsters, documents, land changes, etc. are the field events.

The Conslusion:

Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky is a niche JRPG for fans that will not hate on. Luckily, there's not a 3-year time limit in sight, which is a good thing. Though I would call it "perfect" because in total, I'm loving every second of this niche JRPG! Like I mentioned before, it's the first half of the sequel. If you're an Atelier fan, then you would love this game. If you prefer to give it a rent as possible, it's fine.

Pros:

+Awesome gameplay experience
+Not a 3-year time limit
+Perfect music quality

Cons:

There are no cons

I gotta say, this JRPG game is quite the excellent quality. The game is awesome and has some things I'm getting the hang of. I'm intrigued by the gameplay and everything. The problem was, there some things that are pain to do, but it doesn't matter because it's going to be easily given a solid and perfect 10 and I'm definetely looking forward to the next game in the Dusk series. One of the most niche JRPGs that get me to the end.

Mind Zero - out now in stores!

Besides Ubisoft's sandbox hacker game Watch_Dogs, Acquire's JRPG game Mind Zero is now out in stores! Mind Zero is a Persona clone/rip-off that has a young highschooler, who is named Kei. With the power of the Mind, Kei uses his Persona to use skills and magic. He's not the only one who uses a Persona, but he has companions who also uses their Persona as well.

With over 90 hours of gameplay, Mind Zero is the game for Persona fans to enjoy! Even so, it doesn't make up with GameFly since it's going to be rented in a couple days. It's just as humiliating as I remembered.

RGR Fun Thought - Nintendo and Sony's JRPGs

When you read my fun thoughts, that means you are obligated to like my fun thoughts. In fact, the thoughts are so fun that you may like it. Because of that, I'm obligated to give you my first RGR Fun Thought, which is Nintendo and Sony's JRPGs. Okay, I've been loving the jarring nights that neon lights are found. I'm never going to stop thinking about it! In other words, Sony's JRPGs are nighttime-evident. I'm mostly into them and I usually play them at night. Sony's not the only one who can release us JRPGs, but Nintendo also releases us JRPGs, but they are only daytime-evident.

The fact about JRPGs was they are jarring. That is when Japan was my favorite country that both Nintendo and Sony were being supported by. I was so sad since Microsoft was no longer releasing JRPGs. It was crap as I remembered. In total, Nintendo and Sony are releasing their JRPGs, but as for Nintendo, they don't have that many JRPGs as Sony does. Nintendo's JRPGs are daytime-evident while Sony's JRPGs are nighttime-evident. That is before I play Skullgirls Encore while listening to BlazBlue music and was able to pick up Guilty Gear for the Vita.

Although daytime Nintendo and nighttime Sony have some benefits of releasing us JRPGs. But don't judge me, those are my thoughts with expressions.

Diablo III - ports to the next generation

Blizzard Entertainment decides to port Diablo III to the next generation consoles. The next gen title has the Ultimate Evil Edition at the end and it's going to be for the PS4 and Xbox One. That was since Tomb Raider was ported to the next gen consoles with excellent graphics.

Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition contains improved graphics, but the gameplay stays the same as the previous generation version. For right now, the story, trophies/achievements, and other stuff aren't mentioned yet, but the release date for the US is revealed. That being stated officially, it'll release in the US this year, so for time being, the previous generation version is still out, so enjoy it while you can.

Time to say rest in peace, Wii/DS online!

Well, everyone, time to start your tears of joy because Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection has been officially shut down. You know what that means. That means you will no longer play online on the Wii and DS. It's sad that the servers are shut down. The good news is, you can still play online on WiiU and 3DS, right? I know it's not a single big deal. Now, the memories of Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection are stated below.

It was a fun online play on the previous Nintendo generation. You were guys able to play Mario Kart Wii via the livestream. Also, Fortune Street was an online board game, which was livestreamed. I watched the livestream the other day and that is the best way to say farewell to Wii/DS online.

Although I found it sad that the previous generation online was turned off. Because of the fun, your online have given enough fun for us, Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, and we will never forget you. However, you can still play the previous generation games, but not online since the servers are shut down.

When JRPGs get gold

Have you noticed that we had a crazy year? It's great because PlayStation's JRPGs are not only they are going to be released this year, but they have gone gold as well because of this time of year. Also, they have the beautiful titles I'm looking for as well. I came across many beautiful titles that are gold. Here is the list of JRPGs that have gone gold.

JRPGs that gone gold:

-Hyperdimension Neptunia PP
-Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1
-Mind Zero
-Mugen Souls Z
-NAtURAL DOCtRINE
-Atelier Rorona Plus: The Alchemist of Arland
-Fairy Fencer F
-Tales of Xillia 2

Although the JRPGs above are nighttime-evident with the monopoly on my favorite country, but I know NIS' RPGs can be more nighttime-evident for me to look out one of the girls and add one to my future Skullgirls roster.

Persona 4 Golden anime - being aired!

Well, Persona fans, it's finally happening! After a long demand, we have finally gotten ourselves an anime for Persona 4 Golden! The anime is based on the PSVita exclusive game that can feature and cover everything. I would like to call it "Persona 4 Golden: The Animation."

Persona 4 Golden: The Animation will air this July in Japan. We don't know for sure if it'll air in the west. I think it's a good idea to air it in the west.

Demon Gaze - review

Over the past years, Kadokawa Games develops many JRPGs, or have NIS America published it to the west. Over the numerous years, NIS publishes their JRPGs to the west. So far, their games are nighttime-evident.

The whole company can publish dungeon crawlers. In the past years, NIS America has finally taken a step forward to the nightly publishing. Because of that hard working, time to read the review about this dungeon crawler.

Demon Gaze is a dungeon crawler RPG game that is a follow up to the Japan-only release "Students of the Round" and can mimic the Etrian Odyssey series, as well as other dungeon crawlers.

The Story:

Demon Gaze is about a young boy named Oz. He is a warrior who is the one and only Demon Gazer. He has a tool that can capture demons and bring them to good. The game uses a nighttime-evident storyline that can provide players.

Living in the Princess Inn:

The Princess Inn is a beautiful inn where you can hang out with friends. It's a 3-story inn that is so big, that it can't hold as many people. The pictures display on each room. The "!" mark is something important while the "?" mark is a quest or optional.

Paying the Rent:

After coming back to the inn, Fran Pendoll, the manager needs you to pay the rent. If you don't have enough money to pay the rent, then you will stay outside until you have enough money. You can earn money by winning battles and selling unneeded items. The rent will be high depending on your party and the difficulty.

Customizing a Character:

When you have enough money, you can hire another person to join you in your party. To do that, talk to Fran and select "Register." After registering a person, you see the character customization screen. You can select a type of person, give him/her a voice, a name and done! You can have up to 5 people on your team.

The Gameplay:

The gameplay mimics Etrian Odyssey and other dungeon crawlers. The battle system allows you to pay attention on what you're doing and get through the battle system well. There are 6 choices, Attack, Defend, Skill, Item, Flee and Demon. The Demon choice is for Oz only, which can be talked about later. The danger level indicates at the top middle of the screen. Green means low, yellow means medium and red means high. When it reaches red, that means you're in trouble until you escape. As you level up, the danger level will decrease.

After reaching a certain level, you can learn a skill. The more skills you learned, the better. The Special skills doesn't require SP, but others do. You need to use them wisely.

Forming a Pact with the Demons:

When you get all circles across the areas, you can fight a demon to forge a pact with him/her. When you get strong enough, you can try your luck in fighting a demon. Once the demon is finished, you can bring him/her to Fran to get a Demon Key.

When Demons Accompany:

When you have the Demon Key, you can bring at least one demon with you via your room or the circle you control. You can carry up to three demons at a time. A demon can come out on his/her own sometimes. You can call the demon out by selecting Open Demon under Demon. The Demon Gauge that is located on the top left corner depletes slowly when the Demon is out. When it reaches 0, the demon enrages and will attack you. Which is why you need to quickly select Close Demon under Demon. However, you can fill up the gauge by fighting.

At the end of a battle, your demon can increase points to rank up your demon. When the demon's rank is up, the Demon Gauge's max increases.

The Moment Before the Situation Rises:

As the game progresses, the situation happens, like sickness, dangers, clamoring, etc. As stated, you need to look on what are they talking about. The moment takes place right before the situation happens and rises. There might be some tough things such as the banned from any place part. It's very clear that this may be the good time to experience it.

The Conclusion:

Demon Gaze is a bombshell that Etrian Odyssey fans will not hate on. The gameplay looks awesome and everything. Also, this game is coming out perfectly, but apart from the fact that you pay the rent, which is a stupid move. Besides, if you don't want to play this, they you can quit anytime if possible.

Pros:

+Awesome gameplay experience
+Demons are great

Cons:

-Paying the rent is a pain

Although I can say Demon Gaze is an exciting game. However, there's a minor flaw to this game and there's a good chance that it can rip players off. That doesn't matter because I'm loving it very much! I'm giving Demon Gaze a perfect 10 and all I can say is, good luck!

Tales of Xillia 2 - release date revealed + even more hype!

Well, everybody, it looks like it's finally happening! Tales of Xillia 2 is going to hit US August 19, 2014! I know you're even more hype to play it, but do not worry, guys. There will be other RPG games that will be released before that month to hold us off.

As of right now, this is a small word on the release date on Xillia 2, so more news will be revealed later on. Maybe it'll be big.

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles - review (Part 2 of 2)

And now, it's time for the second half of the Tales of Symphonia Chronicles review. Part 2 will cover the Wii sequel, Dawn of the New World.

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World is a direct sequel to the PS2 game that has chapters with a storyline that is exciting. Also, there are some issues to the game that aren't fixed. This game serves as a sequel with two new characters.

The Story:

After a climatic ending to the previous game, the two worlds are together at the dawn, causing the story to continue. Mithos' death by the heroes of world regeneration's hands freed massive energies, combining two worlds together and ripping Derris--Kharlan in time. With the new world is reborn and after 2 years from the past, the gang of regeneration must face a greater foe and a bigger challenge. Since the dawn times, Sylvarant and Tethe'alla merge into one, causing new places to appear. The Giant Tree grew violently and attacked the town.

The Sylvaranti and Tethe'allan laws are in effect during dawn times. Or so they say...

Introduction:

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World has two new characters that aren't seen in the previous game. A male character was named Emil Castagnier. He was timid at the beginning. When the situation gets hotter, his parents were killed by Lloyd Irving. The main hero of world regeneration was a murderer throughout the Blood Purge. And now, Emil swears vengeance upon him, avenging his parents' death. Is Lloyd really a murderer?

A female character was named Marta Lualdi. She has a core on her forhead. The situation took a turn for the worse when she was taken into hostage. After the Giant Tree killed the people of Palmacosta, Marta issues to leave the town. Only by protecting the core can she earn the right to stay alive.

The Elements of Nature:

Dawn of the New World has 8 elements of nature. Fire, Water, Wind, Light, Ice, Earth, Lightning and Darkness. These elements of nature consists inside the temple. Those refer to as the elemental wheel and neon colors at night.

The World Map:

Unlike the previous game, Dawn of the New World allows you to choose a place you would go rather than walking in the map. The map has two worlds together to form a new world. There are new places that aren't seen in the previous game. As the story progresses, new places will be added.

The Skits:

They are voiced mini scenes in both English and Japanese voices. When the title appears on the bottom right corner, press the Select button. There are some skit emoticons that are added, which is the change in Tales of Symphonia Chronicles.

The Sorcerer's Ring:

The sequel allows you to aim using the R1 button and fire using the Square button. When the cursor is big, the ring will work. Like last time, it starts out with fire and can change the element with the machine.

The Gameplay:

The sequel's gameplay looks different than the previous one. The texture looks smooth. There are air combos that can be performed by tilting the left analog stick up and pressing X. The Unison Attack is still there, but can work differently. Depending on the elements on the grid, someone will help you during the attack. It can be performed pressing the right analog stick. This depletes half of the gauge.

After meeting certain conditions, you are able to do a Mystic Arte, which can deplete the whole gauge holding circle while an arcane arte and a high spell. Special can be equipped with 10 SP (Skill Points), which can be increased when levelled up. You can equip as many skills as possible. However, when you don't have enough SP, you can't exceed from the limit. On certain levels, new skills and artes (special moves) will be learned.

Forming a Pact with a Monster:

The only thing in Dawn of the New World was forming a pact with a monster. In order to form one, the purple effect with "Spellbind" will flash upon defeating the monster with the four same elements on the grid. You can carry up to four monsters with you. Can you befriend as many monsters as you can?

The Music:

The music to it sounds cheesy. They change slightly and were butchered. That goes, to some of the places' BGM as well. Regardless, the music was alright, but that doesn't mean you won't enjoy the game.

Issues with the Game:

What I don't like about the game was issues that AREN'T fixed. Issues are, subtitles with punctuation issues, gald grinding issues with some monsters, etc. It's just lazy work in regards with issues. Just because the company didn't fix the issues and still outdated doesn't mean you can't stop playing. There's also another issue to it; the heroes of world regeneration CAN'T earn EXP.

The Conclusion:

Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World is an outdated game that you may or may not enjoy. I call it outdated because the team has some lazy work. Like I said above, the game needs a LOT of work. Besides, just because you wanted the team to fix this game doesn't mean you can fail to play it. At least it's looking good in HD, though. I can say it's a game for everyone.

Pros:

+Air combos are interesting
+Elements are colorful

Cons:

-Gald grinding in some monsters is a pain
-Cheesy music quality
-Subtitles need a lot of work
-Game graphics look outdated and lazy

This is the final part of the Tales of Symphonia Chronicles review and I'm giving it a perfect 10 for Prime while I can declare it Best RPG Game for 2014.

Demon Gaze - out tomorrow

If you don't know what dungeon crawlers are, then there's a chance that you should know about Demon Gaze. It's one of NIS' dungeon crawlers that can give fans not just the gameplay, but a nighttime-evident and engaging storyline as well. Demon Gaze uses a possibility to mix and match 7 jobs and 5 races and also mimics the Etrian Odyssey series and the upcoming dungeon crawler Persona Q: Shadows of the Labyrinth.

Demon Gaze is about a young man named Oz. Oz is a warrior who was alone. However, he's not alone anymore because he has a tool that can seal away the surface dweller demons from taking over the world and dwelling the surface.

Now, as stated, the PSVita exclusive, Demon Gaze will hit US stores tomorrow.

RGR Gaming Goal 2014

Hello, everyone. You guys are enjoying this year's releases, right? I'm glad you are because I have an RPG gaming goal to heat things up. This RPG gaming goal of mine will be a blast for me to keep my play speed going. It's not like I would be ripped off by a release date delay or anything. Here's the RPG gaming goal below.

Goal: At least beat RPG games that I have/will be renting.

RPG games to play/pick up this year:

Bravely Default
Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars**
Demon Gaze*
The Witch and the Hundred Knight*
Tales of Symphonia Chronicles
Ragnarok Odyssey
Ragnarok Odyssey ACE
South Park: The Stick of Truth**

*Currently playing
**RPG games are currently at high demand status
***Other RPG games are on hold for it/in my wishlist

This list of RPG games above will be subject to change by adding more. The game I beat will be crossed out. I'm not sure if I can be able to beat them all in a year, but I'll see.

How I record my games at The Backloggery

As you can see, guys, The Backloggery is a website where we can track and record our games and it's one of my favorite sites since I first signed up. Although the site is the best. Anyway, I'm about to give you how I record games on The Backloggery. Think of it as a guideline to it. Below is a way of tracking my games. I'll use my own best way.

Renting games from GameFly:

1. Once a game is shipped, I type in a game title that was shipped, mark it Unplayed and Borrowed/Rented and add it to my Now Playing list.

2. Wait 2-4 days for my game to come in the mail.

3. Once it came in the mail, I mark it as Unfinished and can still remain in my Now Playing list to start it.

Sometimes I buy games. I buy any game and type the game that I bought. As of right now, The Backloggery is being temporarily repossessed until further notice. Is it going to be an upgrade? I'll find that out soon! I hope it's going to be back up and running tomorrow because like I mentioned, I'll be looking the ones that have the beautiful titles and use the music for inspiration. For even more inspiration, I use "Blue Beating" from BlazBlue. The music is catchy, though.

Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars - out tomorrow

Spike Chunsoft's RPG game for the 3DS and PSVita will be releasing tomorrow in stores. Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars is an RPG game that is made and brought to you from the makers of Danganronpa. The game is about a young boy who was forming a pact with the ladies. In fact, there's a Danganronpa reference since it's Spike Chunsoft.

The game has a deep storyline that you need to pay attention to or you might screw it up. The battle system is engaging because there's a spot. When you hit an enemy from a certain spot, it's a weakness for an enemy.

If you have beaten the demo, then you might get a head start and a bonus. Be sure to beat the demo before picking up the full game tomorrow!

Found something very interesting!

Wow, when I first picked up The Witch and the Hundred Knight from my mailbox, I heard a few bleeps to it! The other day, I read QuestingOrc's comment at the Backloggery about picking up The Witch and the Knight sometime. I'm glad he's going to pick it up, which I hope for it because I was one of the first people to play it!

Back in the end of March, I found something very interesting. I heard Mr. Incredible makes it to the SSF2 roster. It's kind of embarassing to see a Disney character making the cut. However, it didn't really happen because that was an April Fools joke, along with August 21, 2014, which is a fake release date! Good thing v0.9b is going to be released before August, or I'll be mad. Besides, it's very funny to prank someone, even the prank master, who is hard to beat. Seriously, it was funny as I encountered.

The other thing I found was GameFly ripping off and delaying release dates, which is not funny, it's serious. That could upset fans, even me because I was able to order Bravely Default at February 11 after being unable to order it in the actual release date. They HAD to delay them just to tick me off. Maybe it has something to do with the company.

After I was ripped off by the release date delay, I went ahead to Kongregate and play me a few games to hold me off. Also, I came across an RPG game that was a rip-off version of Bravely Default. It was Crystal Story II, an RPG game that is the sequel to Crystal Story I that resembles Bravely Default and serves as a rip-off version of it.

As of today, everything's getting smooth, including the RPG releases for this and the previous months!
