Neptunia Spinoff - on the works!

It looks like we're getting a Neptunia Spinoff, and it looks like it! I know I said it was a series for girls, but I have learned my lesson that both men and women can play the Moe SRPG series. Anyway, the spinoff is called Planet Destroyer Black Heart. If it was a Noire spinoff, then chances are, she will be the protagonist for the game.

If you don't know who is Noire, then I can explain it to you. She is a citizen of Lastation. Her hairstyle has ponytails and her hair color was a raven black. She makes a great protagonist. Here, the game doesn't just provide a deep and engaging gameplay, but a deep and girl-tastic storyline as well. Altogether, the game will have 18 females, including the original ones that are made for the Vita game. Ester, Milli, Rid, Tsunemi and Sango are the key characters. Not a Barbie-style game or something, but it will have Sopranos and Altos like other games.

The limited edition has a Noire figurine and a drama CD. The ones who pre-ordered the game get a visual book as a bonus. With that being said, Hyper Goddess Creed Noire: Planet Destroyer Black Heart will hit Japan stores on May 29, 2014 for the PS Vita.

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth

During Atlus' big announcement on Nico Nico Live, which takes place on various big screens located in the six cities on the teaser page, the latest entry in the Persona series will be for the 3DS. The game in the series is called Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, an RPG game that features a mix of Persona 3 and 4 characters in a chibi-like fashion.

The game takes place in Yasogami High, a school debuted in Persona 4 where a mysterious tower was reborn, and this will be a labyrinth. Here, the combat system plays alot like the Etrian Odyssey series and uses a fully refined battle system.

If you're big fan of the Persona series, then chances are, you should know that it releases in June 2014, but it's going to be in Japan, considering Nintendo did accept Japan's hard working that works like the hard working on Sony. If Persona Q gets a release date for the west, then I'll be satisfied.

Been renting RPG games

OK, so for the past few years or so, I been renting RPG games at my local Hollywood Video at Indiana and at my local Blockbuster Video at my current state that were about a 10-15 minute drive away, but there in those renting places, I can't seem to find the ones that I'm looking for. The solution was I have an online rental service that can allow me to rent all RPG games that I love the most. It's a good thing that I been renting RPG games from a huge selection online. Besides, I rent a great RPG game, I loved it the best, then I send it back when I'm done. Sometimes, I get burned out by an RPG game and then I send it back to the mailbox. Unless I suck it up and try it again!

As a result, I have anything planned at RGR to declare the best RPG games in the year 2013. In fact, all of my RPG reviews hit the first milestone mark to continue my journey.

RPG games I love the best so far:

Arc Rise Fantasia
Mana Khemia 2: Fall of Alchemy
Star Ocean 3 and 4
Tales of Series
Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
Hyperdimension Neptunia (Seems like a girl's RPG game, but men could play it as well)
Time and Eternity
The Guided Fate Paradox
Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl
.hack//G.U.
Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk (Turns out better than the games in the Arland world)
Grandia III
Final Fantasy XIII-XIII-2
Blue Dragon
Persona 4/Persona 4 Golden
Dragon's Crown
Ragnarok Odyssey
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
White Knight Chronicles 1 and 2

So, mainly, I'm pretty sure that there will be a lot more RPGs for me to rent as well. However, most RPGs will be Sony exclusive. I don't know if Japan did well on Nintendo. Well, a Xenoblade Chronicles sequel X is coming to the west for the Wii U. But hey, support's a support. As of next year, I have RPG games planned.

In my own RPG adventure, I have the most rented RPG games on my Backlog, and my Backlog is greatly maintained because I have less Unfinished games than anyone else, and have added the wanted-to-play games to my wishlist to make sure I don't forget.

Well, that's about it, people! Here's a full list of games I've rented so far. This is also my custom rental history. Well, I have a borrowed game as well.

JRPGs won't be for the Xbox One

Now, since the Xbox One hits stores today, I'm gonna remind you that the Xbox One will NOT be having JRPGs. Why? Well, it's because the JRPGs that are released for the Xbox 360 became a flat out fail. Take Tales of Vesperia for instance; it was a flat out fail because it was released for the 360. With that being said, Japan lost their money because of the Xbox that sells poorly. Like I said both X and black mean death in Japan. So overall, Japan gives up on the Xbox and will stick to the Sony exclusives. Luckily, a couple of RPG games Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV were both announced. They are not JRPGs, but they are made by Square Enix.

RPG Game Room - new background!

It looks like RPG Game Room is finally getting a better background! The background in the blog has numbers. The white numbers mean the regular damage you took/deal with a few "miss" phrases, the yellow numbers mean the critical damage you took/deal and the green numbers represent the amount of HP you restore. I hope you like it!

RPG Game Room - new banner!

Well, readers, it looks like RPG Game Room has a new banner! This banner above has a beautiful name in a beautiful text titled "RPG Game Room." Although this might not be much, but it's better than the previous banner. Above and below the title, it has numbers that can represent the damage you took/deal and how much HP you have recovered and a couple of "miss" words I hope you liked the title!

God Eater 2 Demo Version

I know this is strange, but this is a blog meant for articles about RPG games that have something to do with the west imported games, but this will cover Japan imported games anyway. While the demo unfortunately didn't make it before the game was shipped, Namco Bandai's 3D RPG dungeon runner God Eater 2 will be available tomorrow. In a while ago, God Eater 2 would see a free demo, but only in Japan.

Chances are, I can't rely on anyone since God Eater 2 was in a Japan import and if necessary, I hope it's coming to the west. Gods Eater Burst usually gets a news update from Japan and we still get nothing of this. That was actually awhile ago. If you had a PS Vita or a PSP, then I guess I would recommend people who are living in Japan.

Japan's RPGs of Memories Past: Hyperdimension Neptunia

Now let's kick it off over and over with a JRPG that can be played not just by women, but men as well. If you're a male Otaku like I am, then chances are, you should at least known about Hyperdimension Neptunia by now. First off, it seems like a women's RPG game series because it has a women-only party. However, I recall that men would play it. Take video games from Barbie and Bratz for example. Men do not want to play them at all because they are video games that are designed for girls only.

The series takes place in Gamindustri, a world where nations are divided into 4 great nations. Since ancient times, Gamindustri was at peace for so long. However, the monsters ruin the peace, so the 4 great nations will bring back peace, such as Planeptune, Lastation, Leanbox and Lowee.

Mostly, the girls has some anime-style effects, like the left eye being the greater than sign while the right eye being the less than sign. The next one is the opposite eye. I was so freaked out when I saw that. If that's normally the case, I decided to be an Otaku and read between the lines correctly. The battle system looks refined with button mashing from other RPG games. There are quests to beat to earn a lot of stuff, like Credits, items and more. Beware of the woman with a giant-sized bust, showing parts of them. That what's causing the games to have a content descriptor that has something to do with parts of the giant-sized bust shown.

Overall, the series are developed by NIS as they are Sony exclusive and straight from Japan. I would want it to be on the Xbox, but Japan doesn't do well on the Xbox because both X and black mean death in Japan, which I'm upset about, and doesn't do well at nighttime either (It's a figure of speech for doesn't do well beyond the line). If you had a PS3, then I recommend being an Otaku.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 Remaster - release date revealed!

This collection of Final Fantasy's X series has finally getting its release date for the west. As stated, it will cost $39.99 and be out on March. As a tip, if you're a big fan of the Final Fantasy series, then chances are, you should know about this collection by now. This collection is in fact, a remaster after the PS2 games were released years ago. After waited years later, the collection has finally been announced.

Japan's RPGs of Memories Past

Ladies and gentlemen, I have this idea from another site that has memory lanes, and I'm doing the same thing here, but here, I'm doing my memories on Japan's favorable RPG games now that the PS4 was released. Because of the rage, "RGR's Trip Down Memory Lane" didn't ring a bell, so a new title "Japan's RPGs of Memories Past" will be a charm. This post is in fact, about the remembering of JRPGs on Sony consoles (PS2, PSP, PS3 and PS Vita). This is also similar to "Entertainers with Byron Allen." Below is a list of Japan's RPGs that I chose.

Japan's RPGs:

Hyperdimension Neptunia
Arland
Disgaea
.hack
The Guided Fate Paradox
Time and Eternity
Wild Arms
White Knight Chronicles

The list above will be in order. Well, that's about it, people. Enjoy!

Time and Eternity - review

Before the US version releases, Tokitowa was a title that was found in Japan. In the west, Tokitowa changes its name to Time and Eternity, an RPG game from the makers of Namco Bandai's Luminous Arc and Imageepoch's Arc Rise Fantasia. Overall, it was a flat out success since it was made in Japan that favors Sony. So, do you think it was a hit since the companies that did this game favor Sony? For answers, let's check out the review!

The Story:

Time and Eternity has cutscenes that make you feel like you're watching an anime. In the beginning, a young man named Zack gets ready for the wedding with his beloved girl named Toki. Before the wedding, Toki and her pals meet up at a house and conversate about Zack's wedding. In the day when the wedding starts, Zack and Toki are getting married, but, the people of the Assassins Guild attacked and Zack was down for the count.

With the wedding becoming a total disaster, Toki's on a mission to track down the killer, by travelling to the past. The killer will not be revealed until the end. In the past, Zack became a pet dragon named Drake, and he can assist Toki.

The Gameplay:

The game has 3D models with 2D sprited characters. The game may look funny, but some can play it. On the world map, there's a home where Toki reports the finished quests. As the game progress, more places will be unlocked. There are various places to visit, like the Back Alley for instance. Chances are, you may earn instant results when visiting places.

The field screen looks funny because of 2D sprites being on 3D models. On the field screen, there are crystals in 4 different colors. Blue crystals represent saving your game, green crystals represent warping to another spot, red crystals also represent warping, but different and yellow crystals represent exiting the area. There are chests you can find as many as you can. Keep in mind that the field screen has random encounters that puts you into combat.

The combat screen's button mashing is very simple because pressing the Circle button uses normal attacks. It even has a close combat feature that can work by tilting the left analog stick up to move closer to an enemy. The blue gauge or the SP (Skill Point) gauge fills up by fighting or staying idle while Drake is helping you. It was consumed by pressing the Square, X and Triangle buttons. When the Circle button appears on the screen, press it for a finishing move, but it works at certain battles. At the end of the battle, EXP, Bonus EXP, money, and GP (Gift Points) are awarded. Once you leveled up, Toki changes into Towa, then it'll be on and on as you level up. The worst part is you can't switch from them manually, unless if you have a special item.

To spend GP, refer to the Gift menu. On the Gift menu, you can spend GP on various things as they can offer a wide variety of interesting things. Overall, obtaining all gifts earns you a trophy and a opportunity to max them out. Both Toki and Towa have their own gifts and it doesn't affect the story.

The More You Know:

Time and Eternity has various DLC packs. Basically, it was a great game since NIS changed its name from Japan. If you're so keen on the game, then chances are you may play it. You have to get your backs covered because there's no limited occasions throughout this game. It doesn't mean you could fail to beat it. Be careful, you could think it was a pain in the neck.

The Best and the Worst:

Although you may not like it, but Time and Eternity was an amazing game. It's too bad that it has no party members, but still, it's an amazing game. The button mashing feature works great and well on battles. Overall, it has a kickstarter to it. Who knows when you think it was a bad game? I wouldn't even give it a bad score like GameSpot did.

Pros:

+Button mashing is awesome
+Great music quality

Cons:

-2D sprites being a 3D RPG model looks funny

I give Time and Eternity for the PlayStation 3, a solid 9.0 for superb. Play it.

Japan's RPG games for the PS4

Since the PS4 is being released tomorrow, I have every piece of information to ease the wait. Now, first off, the Japanese companies did a terrible job on the Xbox 360, so they did well on Sony consoles. Basically, we have a few RPG games left for the PS3, especially Tales of Symphonia Chronicles. Once done, the JRPGs will be carried over to the PS4, but not the Xbox One because Japan isn't interested in supporting it. On the PS4, it will have Japanese RPG games because Sony allows Japan to make more JRPGs. The PS4 will or might have the following below.

-More Tales of series
-.hack (I didn't even know there was a new game in the works)
-Sequels on RPG games
-New White Knight Chronicles games
-RPG games developed by NIS
-Star Ocean series (SO4 didn't turn out well on the 360, and also available on the PS3, but with the word "International.")
-A Ni no Kuni sequel, maybe?
-Possibly Atelier games
-Disgaea series, maybe?
-Hopefully more Wild Arms games since they are out many years ago.
-Hopefully MagnaCarta games (I think I figured out how MagnaCarta 2 bugs out. I think it's because the Japanese team released it for the Xbox 360, then it became a flat out fail because of the glitches)

Tips on Japan's epic fail on the Xbox + Tips on Japan's big success on Sony

Many of you have known that Japan's RPG games are in a genre. To let you know on how Japan did an epic fail on the Xbox and a big success on Sony, I have important tips on how did Japan have an epic fail on the Xbox and a big success on Sony. Here it is.

Tips on how Japan did an epic fail on the Xbox:

First off, when the Xbox 360 was first released, Japanese game conpanies gave it a shot. However, it was an epic failure because Japan didn't work well with Microsoft's Xbox. Overall, RPG games Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean: The Last Hope and Record of Agarest War were released, but they didn't even work out well since Japan hates the Xbox and have decided to give a shot on a different console made by a different company.

Tips on how Japan did a big success on Sony:

Next, when the PS3 was first released, the Japanese game companies have succeeded in making the JRPGs a big success. It's because Sony just relied on Japan's companies that did RPG and fighting games. Overall, the majority of the JRPGs are in Sony Computer Entertainment consoles. Basically, NIS did a majority on PlayStation consoles because they made the JRPGs, making them an epic success. Plus, Sony had a few more RPG games on the PS3 to be released next year before carrying over the JRPGs to the PS4, while the Xbox One won't be having anything interesting since Japan isn't interested in doing the Xbox One.

These are the tips above on how Japan did well on Sony while Japan did an epic failure on the Xbox. I hope you understand, readers and fans.

The Guided Fate Paradox - epic fail!

Well, it's official, RPG fans... I have officially stated that The Guided Fate Paradox was an okay game... I'm sorry I couldn't beat it. It's because of the Mermaid enemies usually start out at level 5 for fans to think the same darn thing! It was the same darn disaster with Valhalla Knights 3 because of my lack of strength! Glad I'm the first one to play this game, but what an epic fail! Darn it! First, Namco Bandai isn't interested in making more Tales of games for the Xbox, and now this! I've been completely suckered! But lucky for me, I have NIS America's another colorful RPG game Time and Eternity to come in the mail. I hope this turns out awesome.

No more Tales of series on the Xbox...

Well, everyone, it looks like we have to face some facts because I received word saying the Tales of series team isn't interested in making more on the 360 and not interested in starting making them on the Xbox One. All I can say is.... WHAT THE HECK?! Have you ever been hoping for more Tales games to be announced on the 360?! I can't believe this!! Namco Bandai have informed us that no more Tales of series to be announced on the Xbox! I captured every RPG gaming articles, but darn it! I was hoping for more Tales of series to be announced for the Xbox and Tales of Vesperia become a flat-out fail! And now, this?! Darn it all! Well, I don't know if the PS4 will have Tales of series, but to each of its own.

RPG games to be released next year

Well, it looks like we have reached the end of the RPG line for this year, everyone, and the year's almost over. This Friday, the PS4 will hit store shelves so we can move on to the new generation of RPG gaming. It was so sad for the RPG games for the PS3 not to be made this year anymore...

But there's no reason to be sad because there are more RPGs to be released next year! As of next year, we'll be seeing every last RPG game on the current gen of RPG gaming to be released, like Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky, Mugen Souls Z, Ragnarok Odyssey Ace, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, Tales of Xillia 2, The Witch and the Hundred Knight, Lightning Returns and many more, as well as non-RPG games. I got my high hopes for more RPGs to be released for the PS4 so I can rent every one of them. I'm not sad because we're getting more RPGs for next year!

Ordered Time and Eternity today!

Well, it looks like I'm the luckiest one today. Back in July 16, 2013, Time and Eternity hit store shelves after it was formerly known as Tokitowa in Japan. Don't get me wrong, but it was from the makers Namco Bandai's Luminous Arc and Imageepoch's Arc Rise Fantasia. I made sure I hold them off before getting it the moment it was shipped! I've seen the trailers to the game that has a funny gameplay because of the 2D sprites in a 3D model, like BlazBlue and Skullgirls for example.

In fact, Time and Eternity was a game by NIS America right before The Guided Fate Paradox hit store shelves, which I bragged about since I managed to put my games on hold. Not no serious action or anything, but this will hold me off until the release of Lightning Returns, which will be released next year. If not, then I stick with The Guided Fate Paradox.

As you may or may not know, Time and Eternity has a funny-looking gameplay with button mashing attacks. Overall, GameSpot did give it a bad score with their review, but as for my next review, it'll be better then theirs! And on that day, I'll get it picked up from my local mailbox. Now, with that being said, there are two girls Toki and Towa and I'll be adding them to my wish roster of Skullgirls: Dark Phantasma, along with a stage. It's a good thing it plays alot like Lightning Returns because of the button mashing. Overall, I can't wait!

Valhalla Knights 3 - Gold version announced!

After the regular version of Valhalla Knights 3, the Gold version has been announced by Marvelous AQL! As you may or may not know, the Gold version will have an addition to the story and 2 new classes Sage and Dark Lord. First print copies include quests to partake and obtain. Overall, the enhanced multiplayer was added on the western release.

As stated, the Gold version will hit store shelves on February 27, 2014.

Japan's first dibs on RPG games

Many of you have known that Japan is having first dibs on RPG games because they are JRPGs. Overall, most of us live in the west and we usually have second dibs. It was so unfair when they always have first dibs! Really, chances are, I would visit Japan and take their games, but I don't think it was a good idea since they are imported, and the majority of their games were taken first. Good thing that you can order Japan's RPG games online, even though you're in the west. I prefer not to order them online becuase I can't understand Japanese that much.

The Guided Fate Paradox - review

Every once in a while, NIS America decides to take the RPG gaming to the next level for the fans around the world. Many years ago, the PS2 game Disgaea: Hour of Darkness hit the shelves in the west. Right now, it's no longer in stores anymore since waited 10 years for the latest game Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness. In the 5th of November, a game that is from the development and planning team of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness hit store shelves. The game is called The Guided Fate Paradox. Let's check out the review about it!

The Story of Paradox:

The Guided Fate Paradox takes place in Celestia, a palace where many people including angels that can give joy and harmony. In the beginning of the story, a young high schooler named Renya Kagurazaka had never won a single lottery game. Suddenly, he came across a young female angel named Lilliel Saotome. In the lottery game, Renya was chosen as a God who can guide their fates and overall, keep the lessons up and running.

Basically, Renya, a chosen God by the lottery has a mission to guide their fates and put them back to normal.

The Gameplay:

The Guided Fate Paradox has a refined gameplay. In each of the dungeon, walking is compatible with the directional pad. With the control stick, you can choose what skill you would use. If the skills reach 100%, they enter Burst Mode and can have powerful attacks. They are called Divine Skills and they are in equipments.

To use regular attacks, press the X button. After pressing the Triangle button, there are various commands including Pick Up, which can be used by selecting the command. To throw any object, select the Throw command. For big damage on enemies, you can throw any object at an enemy.

Here, it has partners that you can take with on your journey. You can only carry one partner at a time. He or she can attack with you. Your partner can't take part in boss battles and you need to do this on your own.

As Renya, he has an EN (Energy) gauge that can be depleted using actions. If his EN reaches 0, his HP can deplete gradually. However, if you eat anything, Renya's EN regenerates. Make sure you pay attention to the EN gauge that can deplete faster by pressing both X and Circle buttons at a same time.

If Renya's HP reaches 0, all of his stuff and half money are lost. If you're in a tight spot, use the "Exit!" item that can take you back to Celestia. Even though you failed in a dungeon with the frustrated portion, you can still get stronger with the Total Level you earned when reverting a level back to 1.

At a board-like menu, you can place tiles that can increase your stats, and statues that can give Renya's increases. The more tiles you place, the better and stronger as he gets. It's a portion of the game that was important.

Celestia has a bank that lets you deposit money you earned in the dungeon. Use it more often to avoid losing half of your money. It's important that you must always use it. If half of your money was lost, would you scream or say "I won't give up!"? That's why the bank is important.

The cog gauge represents as a God Mode gauge that can be filled up by fighting. If it reaches at max, it's ready to go and you can activate it by selecting the God Mode command with the yellow text. During God Mode, Renya's attacks are powerful and it can be depleted by taking damage and using skills.

When Fates Are Being Guided:

With that being said, Renya has a mission to guide their fates when entering the Fate Revolution Circuit, a pad that can warp him and his partner to a place with a lesson. The 7 angels are considered as partners of him. If the fates are successfully guided, then chances are, the lessons will back to normal without any harshness.

The More You Know:

The Guided Fate Paradox is a game for anime fans or non. It was a big of a hit that it has a limited editon. If you're planning to get the game, then things would be perfect, though. But it doesn't mean you could watch someone else fail to beat it. Sometimes a flock of enemies might appear, putting you on a tight spot, so you need to be careful.

The Best and the Worst:

I'll say that this game was flat out awesome! Even with the frustrating portions! I would recommend someone to get this game. It was all thanks to NIS' hard working because of the colorful RPGs! I wouldn't give it a low score, but many games aren't perfect, though.

Pros:

+God Mode is awesome

Cons:

-Losing half of your money and all your stuff is a thing in a past
-Some enemies are annoying
-Some portions of the game are really frustrating

It was an awesome game from the development and planning team of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, and it wasn't recently outdated when NIS' hard working pays off. Because of that, I give The Guided Fate Paradox for the PlayStation 3 a solid and perfect 10, for prime! Well done, NIS America, we appreciate your colorful games!

RGR's Top 10 Most Shocking RPG Games - #8: The Guided Fate Paradox

After I played The Guided Fate Paradox, I have made this RPG game a shock and have listed this as #8. If you're a big fan of The Guided Fate Paradox, then chances are, you should know about it by now. Thanks to NIS' hard working, The Guided Fate Paradox have finally hit store shelves and I made sure that the portion of this game was not frustrating, but some dungeons are frustrating, but I'm getting better!

I bragged that I have forgotten how hard and frustrating the portion of this game was. I said the same thing when idiotman, my favorite Backlogger beats Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix HD. Overall, Lilliel Saotome was cute and great. I just need to form a bond with her down the road (Not in person, but it's my current progress). With that being said, a review about it will be in play later on, while one of the girls including Lilliel may or may not be added to my wish roster to Skullgirls: Dark Phantasma, but it may be a while before beating the game, and I'm able to write a review about it.

Sadly, I didn't came this far into the game (about 2 lessons in as of right now) and so far, it was great! And it was a shocking RPG game listed as #8.

Atelier Escha and Logy Anime - on the works!

Well, it's official, RPG fans! Atelier Escha and Logy is getting an anime series in 2014! Because of that, Gust celebrates its 20th anniversary. The anime will be aired on 2014, but however, it will be in Japan. If you're hoping for it to air in the west, then chances are, I would recommend Adult Swim to have it, or we get nothing of this.

Overall, the actual game was out in Japan and it will hit western store shelves next year. As I said before, the game has two stories. Escha's story follows the footsteps while Logy's story focuses on exploration. If you don't know whose story to choose, you can use a coin toss. The game was actually did by Tecmo Koei like the previous game Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk. Like I said, Atelier Escha and Logy will hit western store shelves on March 2014.

Just ordered The Guided Fate Paradox today!

After NIS America's perserverance of giving us the "anime" reference at nighttime, The Guided Fate Paradox have finally hit the shelves and I made sure that I was the first one to record it on my Backloggery to get better results the moment it was successfully shipped! Once Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory was released in March, NIS was made the best company that made the colorful RPG's. As you may or may not know, NIS keeps up with the hard working on the majority on PlayStation consoles and other media, and that includes making The Guided Fate Paradox a big RPG hit! It was a big of a hit that Mugen Souls Z and Atelier Escha and Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky were in the works, and they are released the following year.

When NIS America announced a PS Vita treatment for Hyperdimension Neptunia, I bragged that it was an RPG game for girls, but darn, I was wrong! It's because I have realized that male Otaka can play girl games with a lot of moe, but that's kinda crazy! Once Disgaea D2 was out, NIS had a great perserverance of keeping the Vita RPG's going. That was the last we heard from NIS. That is, until their games were colorful so far. Last year, I did the thing with Tales of Graces f when putting other games on hold. This time, I did the same thing when that situation had made me put my other games on hold! Looks like I found the best strategy!

Now after Disgaea D2: A Brighter Darkness hit the shelves somewhere in October, The Guided Fate Paradox is being released. Sadly, I'm not too comfortable with it since it was a development and planning team of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. Overall, I played Disgaea and didn't even play it that much because of my lack of RPG tastes. With my agenda that being said, a review will be written about it, and one of the girls and stages on the game may or may not be added to the wish roster of Skullgirls: Dark Phantasma, but it might be a long time before I'm able to beat the game, write a review about it and add herself and a stage to the wish roster. In that day, it will be picked up from the mail. As a tip, if you fans had a PlayStation 3, and if you love NIS' colorful RPGs, miscellaneous things and anime, then I would give you credit while checking it out.

Sadly, I didn't get the limited or the special edition, but got the regular edition that was only available for renting.

RGR's Top 10 Most Shocking RPG Games - #9: Hyperdimension Neptunia

I know I said that Hyperdimension Neptunia is an RPG game for girls when PP was announced for the PS Vita, so now, be straight with me. If you're a male Otaku like I am in the beginning, would you prefer play the game? If so, then I recommend giving you credit. In my opinion, it REALLY is an RPG game for girls because in all games of the series, you are likely to have girls in your party. I know I bragged about it back in my Backloggery when I have beaten Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory. I realized something. I recall about the male Otaka that can play the game.

Not no female-fanbase RPG game, but really, NIS did establish a great perserverance on keeping the Vita RPGs going and giving us the "anime" reference at nighttime (It was a figure of speech meaning making us proud). Great work, NIS America, we love you and your games! That is one of the most shocking games listed as #9.

The Guided Fate Paradox - out tomorrow

NIS America's RPG game, The Guided Fate Paradox will be released tomorrow. It's one of NIS' RPG games that was a developement and planning team of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, and it follows a young high schooler. The gameplay to it was so sharp and can consist of treasure hunting. If you're one of the gamers out there who's wanting the game like I am, then chances are, I would recommend it to anyone.

RGR's Top 10 Most Shocking RPG Games - #10: Project X Zone

After Fire Emblem: Awakening was released, Project X Zone was out in stores, and the characters of three companies Namco Bandai, SEGA and Capcom join forces for a most explosive crossover game yet! Okay, so be straight. If you're not so keen on some turn-based strategy RPG games including Project X Zone, then don't play them. It's an okay game, but has about 50 chapters! That's TOO LONG!! Also, it will make YOU jump out of the window! The worst part was if you have an issue, then you had to use a quicksave feature and fix the issue you're on! Besides, there's the best part; if you can't beat it, then you can feel free to quit, unless if you want to beat it, of course. Overall, I recommend renting the game instead of buying it.

When reaching the 25-chapter mark, the game really begins, and it's the third entry in the series. What's really worse was the chapters get REALLY harder than Fire Emblem since both games are directly related because of the units and stuff. That is shocking game #10.

Record of Agarest War 2 review

Compile Heart and Idea Factory are great companies that did this RPG game. Many years ago, the first game in the series have hit store shelves. If you're a big fan of the turn-based RPG game series, then chances are, you have came to the right place to read the review of Record of Agarest War 2!

Welcome to Agarest:

Agarest, a vast land where nations are divided and the kings and queens set the land in peace right when the war starts. When the war starts, the kings and queens are here to bring back peace to Agarest.

Record of Agarest War 2 has a main character named Weiss. He's wanting to be a demon slayer because demons cause havoc in the world. When he woke up in his dream, a young girl named Aina accompanies Weiss on his travels of being a demon slayer.

Generations:

They are like chapters, but has a section to the story. The game has generations that you can beat. It's something like parts of the story.

The Gameplay:

The game's graphics are different than the previous installments. In this installment, you can walk in a world map. In the field map, be sure to look for the event symbols and they can progress the game. Unlike the previous installments, there are random encounters. Or if you want to start the battle manually, press the R1 button. There are symbol maps and they are a type of maps that has spots with enemies and events.

If you're in a town, there are some events that can decrease and increase a character's affection. If a certain choice is selected, a character can increase or decrease affection. Their affections are just for show and may not affect their stats.

Here, the battle system is different than the previous installments. When the 4 characters are in a formation with a certain spot, their bodies flash red and everybody can attack together. Record of Agarest War 2 has 4 attack types; X for Down attacks, square for Stun attacks, triangle for Burst attacks and circle for projectiles.

If a certain point reaches when making a combo, you are awarded an Ultimate Point and it can give the possibility to perform a finishing move and it can be performed using the L1 button. When the combo reaches a certain point, you are likely to do an all-out Ultimate Attack. During the move, mash buttons as many times as you can until the AP (Action Point) gauge runs out. AP is capable of giving characters actions.

When leveled up, you are likely to give out points to characters to strengthen them up. If it wasn't enough, then use PP (Party Points). PP is a type of point that can also strengthen characters and they can be earned in certain battles and by completing commissions.

Commissions are like quests, but different. If the text was green, it means commission complete, and they can earn you items, G, TP (Technical Point, but not the Tales of series' version of MP, and can needed to buy and learn skills) and PP. Complete all commissions and you will earn a trophy.

The More You Know:

Record of Agarest War 2 was actually a third entry because Zero was a second entry to the series. The series were developed/published by Aksys Games, Idea Factory, Compile Heart and Red Entertainment. Despite being a turn-based strategy RPG, the Record of Agarest War series turns out to play alot like Ubisoft's Enchanted Arms. Also, Record of Agarest War 2 is not for everyone. Since you're not so keen on the series, then this is not for you to play. However, that doesn't mean you can't play it or watch someone else play it.

Pros:

+Ultimate finishing moves are the best

Cons:

-Random Encounters are annoying
-Alluring gameplay experience
-Gameplay looks tedious
-Combat system plays like a lame version of Enchanted Arms

Although Record of Agarest War 2 was an okay game. Sure, the game is too alluring, but not the best game out there. In the end, I give Record of Agarest War 2 for the PlayStation 3 a solid 7.0 for good.
