Tales of Symphonia Chronicles - review (Part 1 of 2)

Many years ago, the PS2 title Tales of Symphonia releases in Japan, but didn't release to the US. The GameCube version releases to the US, but that's a rare game. Namco Bandai is a company that did the Tales of series, but Namco did the series. The very first Tales of game was Tales of Phantasia for the SNES.

In the early times, Namco did a great job developing the series and they are a hit. In a few years after the year that the GameCube version releases to the US, the Wii sequel Dawn of the New World releases to the US. This year, both games are combined into one chronicle. This is part 1 of the Tales of Symphonia Chronicles review. Part 1 will be about the PS2 game.

The Story:

The first game's story stays the same, but in Symphonia Chronicles, new story elements are added and anime cutscenes are improved. Still, the story is keen. Is slapping a character is a part of the story? Well, let's say the story to it was awesome.

The World Map:

The map has 2 worlds that are separated from each other. To switch between the worlds, use a flying thing called a Rheiard to fly over the base. Although the quality wasn't best, though. There's a lot of things to do, like using Long Mode using the square button. It works when the rock is touched on each area.

There are points on the map. Red means visited and gray means not yet visited. Using the Rheiards, it's faster than walking and riding a ship.

The Skits:

They are mini scenes. In Tales of Symphonia, they aren't voiced when using English voices and emoticons are added. Skits are viewed by pressing the Select button when the title of a skit appears on the bottom left corner after certain times. Can you view them all?

The Gameplay:

The gameplay stays the same. The 3D model has a cell shading style in Symphonia Chronicles. The attack basics allow you to increase your TP, MP from the Tales of series. To consume TP, use the special attacks or Artes.

After getting this far, the Unison Attack gauge will appear. The Unison Attack allows Artes to be used by each character. When certain Artes are performed, a team Arte or a Compound Arte will be performed by 2 people.

The Power of the Over Limit:

Over Limit is a feature that allows anyone to be prevented from knockbacks and such. The feature triggers automatically when attacked a lot. The black aura appears during the Over Limit.

The Sorcerer's Ring:

The Sorcerer's Ring is a magic ring that can come from different elements and be used using the square button. For normal, it starts out with fire. The elements can change using the mechanism that can change the power.

How to Use EX Skills:

EX Skills are the type of skills that can give the heroes skills. To assign one, go to the blank with the crystal and choose any skill you like. This effect the heroes. Crystals can unlock the blank while the new ones will destroy the old ones.

The Best and the Worst:

Tales of Symphonia is a great game for fans that will love. The graphics and gameplay looks strong and comic booky. What I like about it was the storyline with an engaging and deep intact. In other words, it's an awesome game you will not miss.

My point is about the game was the story was longer than any other games. Let's just say the storyline is deep and engaging. Also, I do not regret playing it for memories.

Pros:

+Amazing graphics
+Gameplay looks extremely strong

Cons:

There are no cons

To be continued...
